FEW COMMON MYTHS AND TRUTH.

1. Feeling tired is because of malnutrition.

Truth- Sudden onset of tiredness could mark the onset of an infection or inflammation or dehydration and never ever malnutrition. If you eat heavily also, you may feel tired because energy energy is utilised by the body for digestion.

2. Knee joint pain after fifty years is degenerative and need joint rest and calcium supplements.

Truth - Severe joint pain is most probably by inflammation and not degeneration. The scientific treatment for inflammation in Ayurveda reverse the pain within hours, no matter how much chronic. Joint rest is not advisable and calcium never helps.

3. Drinking more water helps to relieve urinary tract infection

Truth- Drinking more water will improve drainage of toxins but will not reverse the infection. Scientific guidelines of Ayurveda for reversing infection is inevitably required for that. Tender coconut or juices will hardly help as the cause remains in blood.

4. Black tea with lemon is effective in dirrhoea

Truth: It may often arrest stool . But unless and until the exact cause of diarrhoea is identified and reversed , doing such home remedies will worsen the pathogenesis and make the infection dreaded.

5. Applying specific head oil for sinusitis or nasal polyps will heal them.

Truth: Not only that it will NOT heal any of these, but also will worsen these. Oil will enhance the cause and circumstances of these conditions and worsen them.

6. Drinking plenty of water is good for health

Drinking enough water and keeping the cells hydrated is required for normal digestion, metabolism, excretion and all the vital processes in the body. But drinking too much excess water will hamper digestion and may result in indigestion, haemo dilution ( dilution of blood), diarrhoea, depletion of essential nutrients and tiredness. Drinking "unboiled "water in empty stomach will slow down digestion and metabolism which are very crucially required for the normal immune activity, energy production etc.

7. Kids are to be loaded by nutrition all the time .

Truth: Kids need SCIENTIFICALLY COMPATIBLE Nutrition in accordance to their body status and this could be assessed only by a scientific prcatitioner of Ayurveda. Loading UNscientific nutrients is the cause why kids fall sick by some or other reason most of the days .
