Successful Surgical Intervention for Challenging Tonsillopharyngeal Carcinoma at MMABM Hospital Anantnag

Anantnag, 27th June 2024— In a remarkable feat of medical expertise, a 73-year-old male patient with a history of to***co use successfully underwent a complex surgical procedure to remove an extensive right-sided tonsillopharyngeal mass at the Department of ENT, MMABM Hospital Anantnag. The surgery was particularly challenging due to the mass's extensive involvement and the significant anesthetic difficulties it posed.

The surgical team, led by consultant ENT Surgeon, Dr. Salman Khurshid and assisted by Dr. Pervaiz Reshi, Dr. Sumer Bashir, and Mr. Reyaz, meticulously removed the mass en bloc, ensuring complete hemostasis. Post-surgery, an awake extubation was performed, and the patient was transferred to the ward in a satisfactory condition.
