Perfect way to end the week.
Having to see 2 papers online
One on *immune cells trafficking in dry eye”
And other on
“AI in Keratoconus tomography predictions”.
Both are totally original ideas and work

Totally new area of immune trafficking!!

Our team has been working extensively on immune trafficking in Ocular surface and we designed a new way of studying these cells !!
We used to call it “immune wash” when we started
Now labeled “*Immune ocular trafficking*“

Totally new insights first time ever to report this method on
“The ocular surface” ..

This will open up a new way of understanding dry eye immunology
And also help in Studying outcomes of current therapy & new drugs in the pipeline .

Super work & experiments from our Grow lab team guided by Dr Arka Ghosh & Dr Swaminathan Sethu 🙏🏻

Special mention & respect to Dr Sharon D’ Souza ma’am who worked on
All aspects of immune profiling On our ocular surface 🙏
Ma’am it’s so inspiring to see your PhD work answering many Unanswered questions.

It is extremely gratifying 🙏🏻 to be a part of this work ..
finding Alternative vs better compounds for haze/ scar management with a promising molecule SAHA.

Traditionally we as clinicians👩🏻‍⚕️ restrict ourselves to clinical arm of the study.

Fortunate to be part of this work both in clinics & Later in the lab 🧪!!!
That was truly enriching moment 😊

We took smile lenticule and created different level of wound healing response & later used mitomycin & saha to study the response.
We also Used confocal images to
See how cells behave after treatment with saha and compare with traditional approach

After many revisions & some additional experiments.. finally this paper 📝 is in prestigious Nature scientific reports.

One of the most challenging situation for any refractive surgeon is to manage unhappy patient’s post refractive surgery.

In modern era, There has been a surge in the patients presenting with complaints of asthenopia, glare, halos and difficulty in focusing; pointing towards Poor Binocular Single Vision and Poor Orthoptics.

This Article, recently published in Special issue on Refractive Surgery In Indian Journal of Ophthalmology talks about management of these unhappy patients in an algorithmic approach and importance of Orthoptic Evaluation in Modern Day Refractive Surgery.

"In vain have you
acquired knowledge
if you have not
imparted it to others."

"There is no age to learn."

This is our small humble attempt to share what we learn everyday in practice and outside, by open house discussions.

We Will be discussing Everything under the roof of Cataract, Refractive Surgery, Keratoconus, Dry eye: Current and Future.
From Diagnostics to Planning to Outcomes: Everything will be discussed by a mix of Young Ophthalmologists and Experienced Stalwarts.

We Will have invited cases to discuss and Guest mentors who can inspire us to become better each day.

Simple to complex cases and surgeries will be discussed under this roof.
