Our good traditional Indian bread, which is commonly known as, roti/ chapati, is packed with nutrients, fiber and low in calories.
Unlike modern bread-making techniques that use refined flour, roti's are baked using unleavened flour, which is rich in vitamins and minerals that help lower blood cholesterol levels and keep our digestive systems healthy.
Several options exist today, allowing bread to be made exceptionally healthy. A bread made with whole grains gives you the same wholesome goodness as rotis, however, most of them have preservatives.
You can use most healthy unrefined grains to make roti, including millets, jowar, bajra, and whole wheat. Therefore, we can conclude that roti is healthier than bread.
However, roti and bread is only a small part of the entire meal. The accompaniments you choose are therefore probably more important than the bread or roti itself.
