Today, I did something new: wrapped up my first podcast. 🎙️

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I showed up with an open heart and my lived experience. I shared what happens after a sample leaves the doctor’s clinic and enters our lab, how technology is reshaping our work, and why pathologists are often the quiet thread running through a patient’s journey.

I didn’t have all the right words—but I had my truth.
And that felt like the right place to begin.

Thank you to the hosts for holding such a thoughtful space .a.d 🌸

I left feeling grateful for the conversation, for the curiosity in the room, and for the reminder that even the most technical work begins with intention and ends in care.

More soon. But for now: a quiet thank you for this moment. 🤍

Time for some re-introduction 🙋🏻‍♀️

Hi, I’m Dr. Supriya — and if you’re new here, welcome to my little corner of calm, curiosity, and care.

I’m a pathologist by training, a storyteller at heart, and someone who believes in clarity — not confusion — when it comes to our health.

Here you’ll find:

🌟Simplified breakdowns of medical reports
🌟Real stories from behind the microscope & some health education!!
🌟Slow mornings, mindful living, and some travel adventures ✈️

This space is for learning, unlearning, and sometimes — just pausing to breathe.

I also live for morning tea, quiet books, long walks with Simba (my golden retriever sidekick), and reminders that rest is productive too.

Thank you for being here. I’m so glad we’ve found each other.

Being a pathologist means learning a new language — of cells, stains, and silent stories. 🔬🩸💉

Give yourself grace. You’re doing more than you think.

Happy National Pathology Day 2025

Look what Chatgpt made my life look like! Well it is quite accurate if you ask me!

When you hear the word “pathologist,” you might think of labs and microscopes (which is true!). But what you may not know is that pathologists are the storytellers of your body — decoding cells, tissues, and blood to give your doctor the answers they need to treat you right.

As a pathologist, I’ve spent countless hours looking through the lens — but more importantly, I’ve learned to listen to what the body is trying to say, to bring clarity, comfort, and confidence to my patient.

So today, here’s to:

The unsung heroes in labs
The ones making sense of slides and stains
And to our patients who deserve to understand their health & advocate for themselves.

Let's look at one of the most confusing blood test to look at. Most people wonder what mild elevation is AST or ALT could mean!!

The most important thing to understand all of the values are relative, relative to the clinical context, relative to age, s*x, your lifestyle. Something that is abnormal for someone may be completely normal for you.

Mild elevation can result from a recent viral infection, alcohol intake, drug intake so it's important to talk to your provider and understand your individual scenarios. Hope this post helps you in decoding what each of these parameters basically means!!
