A child can develop heatstroke in just a few minutes of extreme heat.
Here is quick, lifesaving advice from Dr Sneha M (Consultant Paediatrician & Neonatologist, O**m Hospitals, Bhattarahalli):
๐ง Keep them hydrated: Offer water, tender coconut, or buttermilk before they feel thirsty.
๐ณ Play safe: Avoid the midday sun. Stick to early mornings or late evenings.
๐ Dress light: Choose loose, lightweight, light-coloured clothes, and always use hats or sunscreen.
๐ Never leave a child inside a parked carโnot even for a single minute.
โ ๏ธ Watch for Red Flags: High temperature, rapid breathing, or unusual sleepiness. If noticed, cool them down immediately and seek professional medical help.
