Cath Lab - Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory allows to treat Heart diseases without Open Heart surgeries. C-ARM is an xray imaging unit which is heart of a Cath lab unit. Surgeons performs procedures through accessing Heart blood vessals by inserting cathether and guide wires through Femoral artery. C Arm imaging make it possible with help of 2D or 3D fluroscopic imaging system. Fluroscopic imaging needs a dye to be injected to highlight and visualise cardiovascular structures under xray. Do you know Anesthesia Workstation ? They ensure accurate delivery of Anesthetic Drugs. They are built in Ventilators which support patient breathing during sedated condition.

During Anesthesia, ventilators can operate in Manual or Automatic modes. Anesthetic drugs are filled vaporizers which will be delivered along with Air,O2, N2O gases.

Important to know Circular Absorber System : Anesthesia workstation re circulate patient exhalation gases which allows reuse of expensive anesthetic drugs which is delivered through inhalation. During this re circulation, Co2 from patient exhation breath is removed with help of Circular Absorber system which is filled with Soda Lime.

Color of Soda Lime changes due to Co2 Absorption. It changes from White to Pink or purple indicates to replace soda lime.

Testing : Anesthesia Workstation Testing and Calibration performed with Gas Flow Analyzer and Electrical Safety Analyzer. It can verifies the ventilator performance parameters and Electrical safety.

Conventional cardiac stent faces long term risks like, stent thrombosis, restenosis which re narrowing of arteries due to tissue growth.

Drug eluting stents(DES) are introduced in 2002, it releases medication to prevent re narrowing of arteries. Drug released suppresses cellular growth in the newly stended area.
