Aster Whitefield Hospital, in association with Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor, has launched Indiaโs first *Mobile Epilepsy Van* under the flagship *EPIC (Epilepsy Prevention and Integrated Care) Program* an initiative dedicated to reducing the epilepsy treatment gap in rural and underserved communities across the state.
The launch was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Ramesh Aravind ,Kannada Actor and Director, along with Dr. Prashanth N, CEO - Aster Hospitals, Karnataka Cluster, and Mr. Srikant Subudhi, COO - Aster Whitefield Hospital, and key members of Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor.
Since 2023, the EPIC program has:
โ๏ธ Screened 3,000+ individuals
โ๏ธ Facilitated 62 epilepsy surgeries
โ๏ธ Conducted awareness programs to eliminate stigma
โ๏ธ Reduced financial burden by delivering EEG diagnostics and specialist consultations directly to rural communities
Equipped with advanced *Video EEG technology*, the Mobile Epilepsy Van will begin its outreach in Kolar district, visiting PHCs to ensure early diagnosis, streamlined treatment, and equitable access to neurological care.
With expert guidance from Prof. Dr. Satish Rudrappa and the dedicated neurology team, this initiative strengthens our commitment that *no patient should be denied timely, evidence-based treatment due to geography or financial limitations.*
