Friends I am passioante about helping desperate people in pain! I am passionate about developing and spreading awareness, access and education in musculoskeletal medicine, interventional pain management and chronic pain of any nature. This ambition has taken to various places, universities and hospitals. I am currently setting up a tertiary care advanced pain management department at Sakra World Hospital, Bangalore. To take my expertise to the wider community in bangalore, I am colloborating a network of well trained Pain Physicinas under the banner "NewRoPain - Worldclass pain service at your doorstep". I recently completed my tenure as the head of a tertiary care pain management department at The Dudley Group of hospitals in England. I have acquired skills in the field of pain management from world leaders and has an exemplary record in educating pain physicians of newer generation.My expertise include Musculoskeletal Medicine, Neuropathic (nerve pain) conditions and persistent cancer pain. I have a particular interest in radiofrequency Denervation (Neurotomy), neuromodulation implant therapies, and severe cancer pain. I have a keen intrest in academics demonstrated by over 50 national / international publications and presentations. My Research Gate (website) score of 25.99 and Impact factor of 69.5 are further evidence to his keen interest in achieving excellence in his chosen speciality. I am honorary lecturer at the University of Birmingham, Faculty at the Aberdeen Lumbar Radiofrequency Cadaver workshops, and Faculty at the Brighton university Anatomy module trainer. I have particular interest in sacroiliac joint radiofrequency denervation in which he has contributed as an author in textbooks. As part of his non-surgical therapies for pain control, he is well versed in vertebroplasty, sacroplasty, Prolotherapy and targeted manual therapy. A keen proponent for optimising healthcare cost, i use my clinical skills to optimise pain management tailored to an individual.

The learning continues.. This time, right from Dr.Srinivasa Raja in person.
As I dived headon into the fascinating world of pain medicine, well over a decade ago, the first book I purchased was "Essentials of pain medicine" by Benzon & Raja. I will cherish the 2 days of ongoing learning (including the humility) with Dr. Raja at the IASP-ISSP Multidisciplinary pain education meeting. I was fortunate enough to share the Dias as a faculty alongside many stalwarts of pain medicine.

Another satisfying end to RRIPCO-2. A surgical thanks to our delegates and hardworking esteemed faculty.
Our national and international delegates, from a range of specialities (anaesthetists, neurosurgeons, orthopaedicians, radiologists) soaked in a lively multidimensional interactive scientific session; and walked away with an enthusiasm to continued learning.
Pain medicine is arriving in India..... Our delegate list testifies for it....

The western world learnt (should i say "is learning") it the hard way and the eastern world may miss the bypass....sad..

Chronic pain treatment should start with nonaddictive over-the-counter drugs, move to neuromodulation and mind/body therapy, and only then to opioids.
