TO EXCLUDE CARBS OR NOT?
Most new age diets advocate eating no carbs. Carbs come in these varieties- Sugar, Starch and fibre. Grains, vegetables, fruits and dairy are all sources of carbs. The carbs you consume are converted to glucose by the body enzymes and this glucose fuels your body. Having too little to no carbs has bad side effects. The body starts burning fat and protein and moves into a state of ketosis- it produces ketones which show up in your saliva and this can cause bad breath. You also tend to experience foggy brain syndrome. As ketones increase in your body, it puts excess pressure on the kidneys. Less carbs also means less nutrients that the body needs.
Distinguish between good carbs and bad carbs. Develop a habit of including good carbs in your diet. More on this later 😊
