Forensic Odontology is a remarkably new, and yet to be explored branch of dentistry in Eastern India. In view of this, The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Forensic Odontology, at Hitech Dental College and Hospital is coming up with a Certificate/Fellowship Programme in "FORENSIC ODONTOLOGY".

We are conducting a Short term course(certificate course) for 6 months and a Long term programme(fellowship programme) for 1 year to bring in the much needed awareness in this field to Odisha. The key objective of this course is for candidates to be highly competent in both general and special areas of interest and, thereby prepare him/her for a career most suitable with the speciality. This course will entitle the candidates to aid in medico-legal investigations, in both civil and criminal cases with special attention to the upgraded instruments and forecoming modernizations in the bottomless field of Forensic Odontology.

The course will be online and lectures will be taken by our eminent resource faculty- Dr Ash*th B.Acharya, Pioneer of Forensic Odontology in India along with Chief mentor Dr. Jagadish Prasad Rajguru (Prof. & HOD Hi-Tech Dental College & Hospital).

The course will cover the following topics:
-Age Estimation(clinical/radiographical and histological studies)
-Digital Bitemark Investigation
-Gender Assessment
-Population Specific Identification
-Comparative Identification
-Forensic Report Writing
