Awareness Program on Pharmacovigilance Conducted at Shiva Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital
An awareness program on Pharmacovigilance was successfully organized on Friday, 3rd January 2025 at Shiva Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Bilaspur, HP to emphasize the importance of drug safety monitoring in Ayurveda. The event aimed to educate students, faculty, and practitioners about the significance of identifying, reporting, and preventing adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with Ayurvedic medicines.
Renowned experts Prof. Navneet Sharma, Nodal Officer, Peripheral Pharmacovigilence Cell, RGGPG Ayurvedic College, Paprola and Dr. Sachin Verma, Junior Research Officer delivered informative lectures, highlighting the integration of traditional medicine with modern safety practices. They stressed the role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring patient safety and enhancing the credibility of Ayurvedic treatments.
The program also included interactive sessions to train participants in ADR reporting protocols and the use of national pharmacovigilance platforms. The initiative aligns with the governmentβs efforts to strengthen the pharmacovigilance framework for traditional medicine systems in India.
The event received an enthusiastic response, with participants committing to contribute actively to safe and effective healthcare through Ayurveda.
