बोकारो : दी पेंटाकास्टल एसेंबली स्कूल के 11 विद्यार्थी सिंगापुर की निश्शुल्क यात्रा करेंगे। सीबीएसई दसवीं बोर्ड में 10 सीजीपीए और 12वीं बोर्ड परीक्षा में 95 फीसद से अधिक अंक हासिल करनेवाले आयुष किशोर, समृद्धि, भव्या प्रिया, शिल्पी, अक्षिता, खुशबू, शिखा, अन्वेषा, प्रीति, आयुष राज एवं धनंजय कुमार को इस योजना का लाभ मिलेगा।

बुधवार को विद्यालय में एक सादे समारोह में निदेशक डॉ. डीएन प्रसाद ने बताया कि विद्यार्थियों को प्रोत्साहित करने के उद्देश्य से इस योजना को धरातल पर उतारा गया है। चयनित बच्चे निश्शुल्क सिंगापुर की यात्रा करेंगे। विद्यार्थियों का दल 25 अगस्त को सिंगापुर के लिए रवाना होगा। बच्चे सिंगापुर में मुस्तफा बाजार, चाइना टाउन, लिटिल इंडिया, सिंगापुर जू, जोरांग बर्ड पार्क, डाल्फिन शो, अंडर वाटर क्लब सहित अन्य दर्शनीय स्थल की सैर करेंगे। मौके पर प्राचार्या श्रीमती रीता प्रसाद, डैनियल प्रसाद, अभिभावक एवं विद्यार्थी उपस्थित थे।

BOKARO: Health department officials in the district are concerned over the outbreak of malaria in Maoist-affected blocks. Till date, doctors have diagnosed 974 patients with malaria symptoms in the district - about 24 villagers of Angwali and Baltharwa villages under Bermo sub-division were detected with malaria over the past 72 hours. While experts fear that the figure could rise in the coming days, they are pleased that there have been no malaria-related casualties yet.

The district health department is taking preventive measures to ensure that malaria does not assume epidemic proportions with a team of doctors visiting villages to provide treatment to the patients. "A special drive has been launched to treat patients in the villages. Every possible step is being taken by the health department to prevent the disease from spreading. A rapid response team has been formed to provide immediate medical assistance to patients in even remote areas," said Anil Kumar Poddar, district malaria officer.

A two-day health camp was organized on Tuesday at Angwali village in Petarwar block after the department received information about an increasing number of ill people. Doctors tested blood samples of 141 villagers there and 20 of them were detected with malaria. Appropriate medicines are now being administered to them. "Since January, the district health department has collected and tested blood samples of 1.52 lakh peoplese. Of them, 974 were detected with malaria symptoms. Proper medication and care was provided to them and there were no casualties," said Poddar.

शिक्षा की मशाल से रोशन होगा ग्रामीण क्षेत्र

बोकारो :
जिले के उपायुक्त उमाशंकर सिंह ने सकारात्मक सोच के तहत गरीब बच्चों को गुणवत्तायुक्त शिक्षा प्रदान करने की मुहिम छेड़ी है। शिक्षा की मशाल से गांव में रहनेवाले बच्चों का भविष्य रोशन होगा। इस अभियान से जुड़कर नगर के विभिन्न विद्यालयों के शिक्षक एवं मेधावी विद्यार्थी ग्रामीण बच्चों को गुणवत्तायुक्त शिक्षा प्रदान करेंगे।

क्या है योजना : उपायुक्त ने सोशल नेटवर्किंग साइट के जरिए स्वेच्छा से शिक्षा का अलख जगाने का काम प्रारंभ किया है। फेसबुक पर डीसी बोकारो के अकाउंट पर जाकर शिक्षाविद् एवं विद्यार्थी इस अभियान में शामिल हो सकते हैं। स्पीड-स्प्रैडिंग एंड इन्हेंसिंग एजुकेशन का ब्लॉग खोलने पर एक रजिस्ट्रेशन फॉर्म भरा जा सकेगा। स्वेच्छा से ग्रामीण बच्चों को पढ़ानेवाले लोग रजिस्ट्रेशन करा सकेंगे। इन्हें जिला प्रशासन की ओर से वाहन एवं अन्य सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई जाएंगी ताकि वे ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में जाकर बच्चों को गुणवत्तायुक्त शिक्षा प्रदान कर सकें।
13 अगस्त से शुरू होगा अभियान : इस अभियान की शुरुआत 13 अगस्त से की जाएगी। इसको लेकर उपायुक्त कार्यालय में नगर के विभिन्न विद्यालयों के प्राचार्य एवं कोचिंग संस्थान के प्रमुख की बैठक होगी। इसमें आगे की रणनीति तय की जाएगी।

Why should I care about Health education?

Health education builds students' knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes about health. Health education teaches about physical, mental, emotional and social health. It motivates students to improve and maintain their health, prevent disease, and reduce risky behaviors.

Health education curricula and instruction help students learn skills they will use to make healthy choices throughout their lifetime. Effective curricula result in positive changes in behavior that lower student risks around:
• alcohol, to***co, and other drugs,
• injury prevention,
• mental and emotional health,
• nutrition,
• physical activity,
• prevention of diseases and
• Sexuality and family life.

Health education promotes learning in other subjects! One study showed that reading and math scores of third and fourth grade students who received comprehensive health education were significantly higher than those who did not. In general, healthy students learn better. Numerous studies have shown that healthier students tend to do better in school. They have higher attendance, have better grades, and perform better on tests.

DPS makes in crores during admission season every year only from Bokaro.

According to DPS sources, the school charges a total fees of about Rs 60,000 from "other school students" taking admissions to science stream with computer science and biotech as subjects while about Rs 50,000 for commerce. However, DPS offers a concession of about Rs 15,000 to those "other school students" who are wards of Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) employees.
