Discover thyself … The journey inwards

Like a Russian doll, I have many layers in me. At the surface, you see the most obvious version of my body, gender, colour and size. One layer inside and you begin to see my cultural heritage and background. Then my profession, talents, skills and hobbies. Next, you discover my self-image ~ who I think I am, including my more hidden personality traits. And finally you discover the core of me. The sparkling eternal being of spiritual energy radiating through all the layers of identity conditioned by experiences. The journey inwards opens a delight of discovery. Today let me remember who I am inside.

Consulate General of India organised a beautiful event on the occasion of
11th International day of yoga at the city centre of Shanghai , the vibrant city of China.

The flagship event featured Yoga demonstrations, interactive sessions, meditation and cultural activities, drawing a diverse audience of diplomats, yoga enthusiasts and community members.

Resident coordinator of United Nations in China Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee was also one of the special guests who himself is a yoga and practitioner. Praising Yoga‘s alignment with global well-being and unity, He said, “ As a yoga practitioner, I deeply value its transformative power to foster resilience and peace. This event reflects the shared commitment of India and the United Nations to promote health and harmony, Strengthening bonds between nations “.

Sister Sapna from Brahma Kumaris was invited to lead a meditation session which was appreciated by all. The participants experienced a deep sense of peace and connection during the guided meditation.

There were also Indian classical dance performances by the Chinese artists.

The event was indeed a chance to connect with many yoga lovers and spiritual seekers.

On this sacred day, we offer our shraddhanjali to our spiritual mother and the first administrative head of the Brahma Kumaris — Mateshwari Jagdamba Saraswati Ji, whose divine life continues to be a lighthouse of purity, stability, and silent spiritual power.

Her presence was filled with simplicity, her words echoed truth, and her sustenance was filled with deep Godly love. She led with elevated sanskars, tireless seva, and the power of meditation.

On this day, let us remember her by adopting her sacred qualities — living with mind, word, and action in harmony, blending gyan, yoga, and shakti in our daily lives. 🕊

“Canton India Book Club” started by the Consulate General of India in Guangzhou to promote the awareness of our cultural heritage.

“Canton India Book Club” An initiative by Consulate General of India in Guangzhou to promote cultural heritage of Bharat. At the inauguration of Canton India Book Club , a story telling competition based of the great Epic of RAMAYANA was organised by the Indian consulate for the Children and young adults of Indian diaspora in south China.

Bk Sister Sapna was invited as a Head Judge among the panel of Judges for the competition. She also shared some insights about the Great Epic of Ramayana addressing the audience, she also emphasised on the need of moral and spiritual values as depicted through different characters of Ramayana.
Many kids joined in person and some also participated online from other cities.

This initiative is appreciated by the Indian diaspora in China and in future more such activities are proposed under “Canton India Book Club” including the opening of a Library with books bringing awareness of our cultural heritage and ancient wisdom.
