The Department of Community Medicine, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute, organized a General Screening Camp and Mental Health Wellness Camp in collaboration with SCARF India for the Geriatrics population in Thiruporur on 26 August. A total of 83 beneficiaries were benefitted from this camp.

The program was facilitated by Dr. Pragnya, Assistant Professor, Incharge UHTC, Dr. Sindhuri, Assistant Professor, Dr. Vishali, LMO UHTC, and CRMIs.

The Department of Community Medicine, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute observed World Breastfeeding Week on 4 August 2023/08/2023 in the ICDS Centre, Thiruporur. A total of 35 participants attended the sensitization session.

The Department of Community Medicine, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute observed World Organ Donation Day on 3 August 2023 for the general population in the Mettuthandalam area.

The event featured the conduct of a skit by CRMIs to highlight the myths, do's and don'ts about organ donation. The program was facilitated by Dr. Pragnya, Assistant Professor, Incharge UHTC, Dr. Vishali, LMO UHTC, and CRMIs.

The commemoration of day was observed at the ICDS Centre, Thiruporur, and a total of 50 participants were benefited by the awareness program.

The Department of Community Medicine, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute observed International Self Care Day on 11 July 2023 to cover the theme - "Resilience, adaptability and thriving in adversity".

The event was organized in a Primary School in Alathur village, and 80 students benefited with the health education session and skit.

The Department of Community Medicine, SSSMCRI observed World Autistic Pride Day on 16 June 2023 at Government-aided - Children with Disability Care Home, Thandalam.
As a part of the session, a total of 30 parents of autistic children participated in the event.

The Department of Community Medicine, SSSMCRI in collaboration with the Scarf Foundation of India observed World Alzheimer's Day and Brain Awareness Day on 14 June 2023, for the general population in Keezlu Thandalam with the help of an awareness program. on Alzheimer's and brain awareness and General Screening Camp along With Scarf Foundation of India. A total of 65 adults were benefited in the Program.

The Department of Community Medicine, SSSMCRI in collaboration with the Dental Department, SSSMCRI, and SSSCON organized a General screening camp and awareness rally to commemorate World No To***co Day on 07 June 2023.

The event was organized under the able guidance of Dr. Sindhuri, Assistant Professor, RHTC, Dr. Pragnya, Assistant Professor, UHTC, Dr. Elavarasi, LMO RHTC, Mrs. Sujatha, Nursing faculty, CRMIs, and Nursing students posted in the RHTC. Dental screening was carried out by Dr.Manikandan, Head of the Dental Department of SSSMCRI. Around 75 people were benefitted from the program.

As a part of the World Food Safety Day, the Department of Community Medicine, SSSMCRI organized a health education session using charts and a skit performed by CRMIs for the general public and beneficiaries at Meettu Thandalam in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (100 Days workers ). A total of 80 adults participated in the Program of general and diabetic screening camp.

The event was organized by Dr. Pragnya, Assistant Professor, Incharge UHTC, Dr. Vishali, LMO UHTC, Dr. Rajalakshmi, Postgraduate students, CRMIs posted at Urban Health Training Centre, and Team from SSSCON.

The Department of Community Medicine organized a health education session for the general public at Keelur Village on 6 June 2023. A total of 75 adults participated in the awareness program and the event was also utilized to screen the beneficiaries for anemia.

The Department of Community Medicine organized a health education session on World Environment Day at Sembakkam on 2 June 2023. A total of 130 participants of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act employees of Sembakkam village attended the session.

The program was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sindhuri, Assistant Professor, In-charge RHTC, ably supported by Dr. Elavarasi, LMO RHTC, Dr. Rajalakshmi, Postgraduate student, and CRMIs.
