In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get lost in the endless sea of emails and text messages. Work has become paramount in people’s lives. Feeling Depressed? These are easy to do...

One of the most important things to do when you are depressed is to try and interact with people who lift your spirits. This will not only improve your mood, but also your overall well-being. Sleep is also a very important aspect of overcoming depression. It is very important to get enough sleep, and if you have trouble sleeping, try to avoid tackling problems in the middle of the night. Instead, focus on the people you love and spend time with.

Lastly, maintain a healthy sleep schedule. Many people who suffer from depression sleep poorly or too much. It is essential to get a regular sleep schedule. Being rundown can exacerbate symptoms of depression and can also prevent you from getting enough exercise and socializing. It can be difficult to handle stress if you feel run down. So, to avoid this situation, try to sleep at least seven to eight hours per night. Try to find ways to relax, whether that is through exercise or relaxation.

Talk to a trusted friend. Talking to someone who understands your feelings is important when overcoming depression. If you feel ashamed or guilty, try reaching out to friends and family. Reaching out to others doesn't make you weak, and it won't be a burden on other people. Your loved ones want to help you. This is the best way to make friends and support your depressed self. You might even find yourself making new friends!

The Solo Traveller in all of us...Yes..Deep within, all of us, there is a Solo Traveller...

We feel overwhelmed by a feeling of joy and freedom every time we leave our homes and travel to a new place or country. The world around us is changed by our travels. There is no one the same. What is solo travel like?

1. Solo travel increases your confidence and makes you feel good

It doesn't matter how much we try to keep up with our lives or push ourselves to be stronger; there will always be days when it is hard to feel good. Try going somewhere when you feel down. It works!

Go to a place you've never been before, and go on your own if you are going for the first time. It will surprise you how quickly we feel better about ourselves. This is the magic of travelling. Solo travel gives us more confidence and encourages us to be stronger.

2. It builds courage

Many things can go wrong when you travel alone to unfamiliar places. Even if you try your best to stay alert at all times, bad things could still happen. These are when we learn to overcome any unexpected obstacles along our journey. This makes us braver. We cannot share our companionship, so we must face the dangers alone. This allows us to find our hidden strengths.

3. You are more responsible

You need to be careful and alert when you travel alone. Solo travel makes you responsible for your actions, and you are accountable. If things go wrong, you have no one to blame but yourself. You will be more responsible and sensible when you travel.

4. Solo travel allows you to connect with yourself

It's the best time to be alone! It clears your mind helps to refresh your thoughts and ideas. Travelling alone allows you to be free from the opinions of others, whether they are your partner, friends, or family. This allows you to think objectively and helps you make the right decisions. You have plenty of time to think and reflect. It helps you see the truth about yourself and makes it easier to love and understand yourself.

5. It expands your view on people and things

You are often intimidated or doubtful when you have no other choice than to trust strangers you meet. You are surprised to discover that the stranger you meet isn't what you expected.

You'll see how the world is full of helpful and compassionate people. It is OK to trust strangers and people you meet, even if they are not your best friend. Solo travel makes you less judgemental and more open to other people, places and situations.

6. Solo Travel is the best way to learn about life

You realize that the world is full of beautiful things that can make you happy when you wake up to see a sunrise on a beach. This clarifies how easy it is to be oblivious of all the beauty around you every day while living in our own world.

Solo travel teaches you to slow down, pause, and appreciate Mother Earth's beauty. You learn to see the small yet amazing things. It teaches you compassion and love. It was amazing how content they were with the things they had when I visited the Himalayan villages during my trek a few months back. They didn't have all the amenities. They lived with only the most basic necessities, but they survived. Many of them seemed to be happy. It taught me to be content with the simplest things in life. I learned from the children that even the smallest things shouldn't be overlooked - and that a smile is truly the best way to connect two people.

Travelling is my favourite part of living this life. It gives me a fresh perspective.

It allows you to see life in a different way, who you really are and how you spend your time. Travelling allows you to meet new people and cultures, discover new things, and maybe even redefine your life.

Travel can help you become a more educated person by allowing you to learn from other people and places.

There is so much to do and see in the world. You are able to gain a fresh perspective by simply going on a trip to another country or travelling on a road trip.

Travel transforms you for the better.

For all of the reasons mentioned above, travelling changes your identity. You don't realize it's necessary until you do it. You will discover a new side to yourself.

Make the most of what you have. It's so simple to travel these days. I guarantee it won't be something that you regret.

An adventure is something you won't regret. Do it for your health. Do it for your mind. Do it for yourself.

How can you overcome low self-esteem? Here are some easy tips..

As well as getting professional support, there are things you can do yourself to help improve self-esteem. What’s essential for you to remember here is trying and not putting too much pressure on yourself. Building up your self-esteem can be a long process, but small steps lead to significant changes.

Here are eight ways you can try to help overcome low self-esteem.

1. Reflect on your values and beliefs:
Try using a journal to get to know yourself a little better. Make a list of your values and beliefs; what do you value in others? What are your opinions?

2. Challenge your inner critic:
Another way to overcome low self-esteem is by challenging your inner critic. When that voice in your head tells you something negative, for example, ‘I can’t do X’, get into the habit of challenging it. Ask it ‘why not?’. Imagine what you would say to a friend who said this to themselves and try to treat yourself like a friend.

3. Use positive affirmations:
This can be not easy at first, but many people find it helpful. Once you’ve challenged your inner critic, try telling yourself something positive, for example, ‘I am perfectly capable of doing X and repeating it to yourself often.

4. Get out of the comparison trap:
It’s natural for us to compare ourselves to others, especially those we see on social media. When you notice this happening, say ‘stop’ out loud and remind yourself that you only see other people’s highlights. If it helps, try taking a break from social media and the online world from time to time.

5. Step up your self-care:
Another way to overcome low self-esteem is by taking care of yourself. Looking after yourself is something that can be pushed down the priority list when you struggle with self-esteem. Try to schedule self-care into your diary and challenge yourself to prioritise it. Taking care of yourself can help reinforce that you are worthy and deserving of respect, improving self-esteem.

6. Challenge yourself:
Taking small steps outside of your comfort zone can feel very hard, but once you see that you can do it, you gather evidence that will bolster your self-belief. Try something tiny at first, and remember to celebrate every single win. You may also find it helpful to reflect on past achievements and make a note of them somewhere.

7. Learn to accept compliments:
The following way to overcome low self-esteem is by learning to accept compliments. Instead of brushing off or dismissing compliments, get into the habit of smiling and saying thank you. This will make both you and the compliment giver feel better.

8. Lean on your support system:
When you’re feeling down about yourself, reach out to friends, family or your counsellor for support. You may even want to use a support group or talk to friends online. Know that you’re not alone, and you have people in your life who care about you.

The journey to re-building and improving self-esteem can feel challenging at times, but the opinions and beliefs we have about ourselves are learnt. This means, with the proper support and some self-work, we can un-learn them. Nothing is set in stone, and you always have the opportunity to change your story.

How to overcome low self-esteem? In this excerpt, we will discuss treatment for low self-esteem and how a counselling psychologist can help.

Grief Counselling – The Importance of Bereavement

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.” ~ Helen Keller

The feeling of a loved person leaving you is beyond imagination and explanation. If this incident happens in reality, our system gets changed in a fraction of a second. For sometimes, everything gets stopped, and you get numb. It is too tough to cope with that situation, deal with those people surrounded by you. Your routines, beliefs, everything just gets changed in a moment. It gets a bit hard to move on from the grief at times. In times like this, you need a grief counsellor or a grief counselling psychologist in India.

Bereavement or grief is that time frame when we adjust with others and ourselves after losing that person. There is not any feeling of right or wrong during this period of grief. Everyone has their very own ways.

Every person has their reactions. Some are very angry, some cry a lot, or some behave in entirely unexpected ways. Certain people get numb. The grief may trigger their conditions of mental health like depression. If you or your loved ones happen to go through these situations, you may find it useful to seek help from top counselling psychologists in India. A grief counsellor can also help you.

The counselling for grief can be of immense assistance during these turbulent times. You may need a professional who can help you cope with pain and help you adjust to life without that person you loved the most.

At times, it gets a bit hard to move on from the grief. Hence, you need a grief counsellor or a grief counselling psychologist in India.
