bring learning and skill development services to un-served consumers in 3 segments (disabled, non-metro residents and from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds) with an enterprise like approach that focuses on effectiveness and efficiency. v-shesh’s efforts may take the form of developing new services within education, learning and skill development space, delivering a service differently or at locations where such services are not available.

v-shesh and BALM are partners in an effort focussed on improvement of wellbeing and mental health of members of deaf community in India. Supported by Bajaj Finserv - components of the have been designed by our deaf colleagues, members of deaf community, Indian Sign Language users and Mental Health Professionals including leaders from BALM. ISLRTC as an institution and its leadership has been a source of constant support right from addition of 259 new signs relating to wellbeing and mental health to dissemination amongst members of deaf community and ISL users and in interest in the peer support programme.
On July 02, 2025 Dr Lakshmi Sankaran supported by ISL interpreters and v-shesh colleagues conducted a engaging workshop introducing the idea of peer support, the important role of support provided by peers and how to think of oneself as a peer and what support looks like particularly for deaf individuals. We had a particularly rich post workshop conversation with Director ISLRTC and Deputy Director about taking this to other institutions to accelerate outreach to members of the community. More about that in a few weeks!
