Clean hands are one of the simplest ways to prevent infections yet often the most overlooked.

In healthcare, hand hygiene is a strict protocol. In everyday life, it should be a consistent habit. From before meals to after travel or restroom use, these small actions make a meaningful difference.

This World Hand Hygiene Day, take a moment to prioritise what truly protects you and those around you.

The Conversations Many Patients Avoid

Bladder and pelvic health concerns often go untreated, not because they aren’t serious, but because they’re difficult to talk about.

In this podcast, Dr. Meera Raghavan and I discuss symptoms people tend to ignore the urinary leakage, recurrent infections, and pelvic floor issues and why addressing them early can make a significant difference.

Avoiding the conversation doesn’t resolve the problem. Awareness and timely care do.

Peyronie’s disease is not always permanent.

In the early stages, non-surgical options can help manage the condition.

And in advanced cases, treatment can be tailored to restore function.

The key is timing, the earlier it’s evaluated, the more options you have.
Let’s break down whether every case needs surgery next.

Kidney stones: Early awareness means early correction.

Recurrent stones are often a sign of underlying metabolic issues. High animal protein, excess salt, and chronic dehydration allow calcium and uric acid crystals to build up. If you've had a stone once, a proper metabolic evaluation is essential to prevent recurrence and potential kidney blockage.

Don't Ignore: Severe pain, nausea, or changes in urine flow.

Think avoiding milk prevents kidney stones? Not always.

Dietary calcium helps block oxalates and protects your kidneys. The real risks are dehydration, high salt and soda intake, excess oxalate foods, and unsupervised supplements.

Stay informed. Stay hydrated.

At the 3rd FEPPA 2026 Annual Conference on Chronic Pelvic Pain, the focus moved beyond discussion into meaningful clinical exchange and shared learning.

FEPPA continues to bring together experts dedicated to improving outcomes in endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain, conditions that remain complex, frequently underdiagnosed, and significantly impact a patient’s quality of life.

It was a privilege to be a panelist in the doctor-led session on Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain. The discussion brought together multidisciplinary perspectives, addressing challenges in early diagnosis, overlapping symptom profiles, and the need to align medical management with appropriate surgical interventions.

The session reinforced the importance of a structured, patient focused approach, where collaboration across specialties is key to delivering consistent and effective care. From improving diagnostic pathways to ensuring continuity in treatment, the emphasis remained on translating clinical expertise into better patient outcomes.

Conversations like these continue to shape a more integrated and responsible approach to pelvic pain management.

Rezum vs. Traditional Prostate Care: The Middle Path

If you’re stuck between lifelong pills or invasive surgery, Rezum is the clinical bridge. Medicines require daily commitment and come with side effects, while conventional surgery often involves a longer recovery and a catheter.

Rezum is a one-time, 9-minute procedure that uses water v***r to gently shrink the prostate like a sponge, preserving sexual function without the need for cutting.

Love a heavy mutton feast? While a home-cooked meal is fine in moderation, excessive red and processed meat can impact your kidneys and prostate health. High purine levels are a direct pathway to uric acid crystals and kidney stones, while preservatives in processed meats can damage body cells over time.
