Case study of a female teacher
Numbness of both/ bilateral hands

Female patient with bilateral Numbness in hand and finger was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands with the help of MRI and NCS ( Nerve conduction study ).

Advise was to undergo surgery in both hands if physiotherapy fails.

physiotherapy assessment revealed that the patient did not have carpal tunnel syndrome as she did not have any pain or movement restriction in her wrist, but her neck had movement restriction due to pain.

Physiotherapy treatment to neck reduced the Numbness in both hands completely,

Surgery avoided.

Exercise taught and course of treatment completed.

No need of review unless patient experiences any pain or Numbness.
