To acquire health and happiness, one needs to live a balanced life. In one of the chapters from Bhagwad Gita Krishna says to Arjuna;

“Yukaharaviharasya yuktachestasya karmasu. Yuktasvapnavabodhasya yoga bhavati duhkhaha”.

It means “the one, who has a balance between their diet and movements, whose actions are proper, whose hours of sleeping and waking up are regular, and who follow the path of meditation(self awareness), is the destroyer of pain or unhappiness”.
The message is relevant even today, validated by modern scientific research and analysis of data.

Everything in moderation is good. Balance is the way of life.
Lets strive to have a balance in everything that we do!

Happy Janmashtami!

Remember these lines from the peppy song Dhunki?!

These lines are a reminder for all of us regarding our mental health.

In our busy lives, we hardly have time to look within and acknowledge our feelings.
We tend to consciously ignore symptoms and signs, or feel that we are exaggerating it!

Whenever you feel something is wrong with you do not think twice, speak it out to someone, maybe your friend, your neighbour, your counsellor, or also your physician. (a good physician is one that LISTENS!)
Small steps like communicating will help you heal soon.

You are not alone.
Speak it out.
Do not ignore.
Mental health is important!

Ps: i know mental health day is gone, but prioritising mental health will always stay!!

Few tips for a healthy heart on the occasion of world heart day:

1. Switch to filtered oils or coldpressed oils if possible.

2. Avoid consuming dalda which you find plenty in packaged foodstuffs, they work as preservatives to increase the shell life of a product.🚫

3.Also look out for trans fat in packaged food. Need to avoid them.🚫

4. Exercise daily. Why exercise? You would know all the benefits of it by now .. If not scroll your insta feed, coz you find it anywhere and everywhere on IG! 😀

5. 🚭

6. Alcohol🚫

And a quick tip for heartbreaks:
(on a lighter note)

Dance away on the breakup song track... You will feel great and it would work as a good 'Bollywood workout' for you and your heart 💁🏻‍♀️

Too much of disheartening things happening around.
Finding something positive has become next to impossible and all the more the word positive itself has become dreadful these days!

In such times, few of us are going through lot of stress, anxiety, depression which in turn is affecting health badly.

Here are few things I am advising my patients to follow consistently, which is helping them a little!

These things won't stop your worries or won't solve them either, but surely they will keep you sane and healthy while you deal with all your stress.

1. CUT DOWN YOURSELF from the NEWS CHANNELS. The news you hear is going to make you more stressed and depressed.
2. Stop checking your phones once you wake up in the morning. This should not be the first thing you do in the morning.
3. Meditate daily : concentrate on your breaths. Inhale and exhale slowly for at least 10min.
Listen to your surroundings, smell the fragrance around , sit for a while and just watch your surroundings.
4. Write down your thoughts, write down how you feel each day. Maintain a gratitude diary, so that you know how blessed you are.
5. Whenever you sip on your tea/coffee/juice be there, present. Don't wander away in your thoughts.
6. Learn something new, pursue your hobby, read a book, eat along with your family, get some sleep.

& remember, tough times don't last, tough people do!

This is how surprised this lady looked when she discovered that mental health is equally important, and to seek help for it is not embarrassing and distressing at all. Are you surprised as well?
Not many know about this and hence hesitate to ask for help.
Considering the present situation of Covid, where many have suffered from financial crisis, the loss of loved ones, social isolation and a lot of us are still adapting to the new lifestyle, a good deal of mental issues have sprung up.

When someone comes up to you and talks about how he/she feels give them your time and listen to them.
This is often therapeutic.
Do not ignore anyone who needs your help. Give an ear to their story, and help them.

Ps: when the college canteen papercups are so peppy, you prefer clicking a picture if it first! 😬🤭

As covid 19 is on a rise, cases of covid shaming are also increasing, and hence a need to share this with maximum number of people.
Read on.

When i interacted with my patients lately, i could sense a tremendous fear within them due to the current pandemic which is very obvious and common.
But after i spoke to them more about it, i realized that the fear was not only of contracting the disease per se, but also about what would eventually take place when the society happens to know about it! They would be the talk of the town and possibly would be looked down upon.
COVID 19 can affect anyone from any caste and creed. They affect humans and not any particular religion.
Moreover, enough discriminations are already being entertained in name of religion and caste. We don't want to add up another in the name of 'corona', do we?

Ofcourse we need to take precautions against those suffering from corona, but we do not have any right to ill treat them.
Be kind, and lend a helping hand.
If not then stay home and avoid going out unnecessarily.

NiTARA, means from the roots or having deep roots and the small 'i' in here denotes the ego part of the human beings. All diseases start when you have a problem with your ego, when you can't let things go off easily, when you nurture the negative things in you.. Thats where all the diseases start from and also start occupying you.

This Independence Day, lets get free of our egoism, lets get free from all the negativity and let's start thinking healthy.
Lets keep the 'i' in us small and overcome our ego so as to only spread the positive energy within us.
It is rightly quoted that,
"Egoism devours all the energy, and in addition it makes one suffer" ~ Dada Bhagwan.

Hence the whole idea of NiTARA here is to remind ourselves to get rid of our egos deep from within us so as to lead a good healthy life!
