Happy to announce that I have completed my training in aesthetics by the best Dr.Abhay Talathi , our mentor who taught us fillers, botox and threads from the very basics and gave us a much needed hands on experience!
Also thankful to all patients who allowed us trainees to treat them, ( for good! )

This 60 y old male patient presented to me with severe excruciatingly painful oral lesions for which he was wrongly treated as another disease. He was unable to open his mouth or take food and was on a liquid diet for some time. He religiously followed the medications and was immensely happy with results after 2.5 months. He is able to have food, socialise and is now mentally very stable and happy.

Pemphigus is an autoimmune disease that causes blisters and sores on the skin or mucous membranes, such as in the mouth or on the ge****ls. The blisters rupture easily, leaving open sores, which may ooze and become infected.

Pemphigus is an autoimmune disorder. Normally, your immune system produces antibodies to fight off harmful invaders, such viruses and bacteria. But in pemphigus, the body produces antibodies that damage cells of your skin and mucous membranes.

Pemphigus isn't contagious. In most cases, it's unknown what triggers the disease.

Pemphigus can occur at any age, but it's most often seen in people who are middle-aged or older. It tends to be a long-lasting (chronic) condition, and some types can be life-threatening without treatment.
Treatment with medication usually controls it.
Visit your dermatologist promptly if anyone you know suffers from this condition.

June is Vitiligo awareness month.

Vitiligo is a skin disease in which melanin producing cells of the skin get destroyed.

Vitiligo is a skin disease, but a vitiligo patient deals with a great deal of mental and emotional stress due to the behaviour of society even if the patient’s close ones are supportive.

Let’s create a conducive , kind, friendly environment and spread positivity.

World No to***co day

Smoking has numerous unpleasant effects on the skin and mucous membranes (mouth, lips, tongue).

Among many deleterious effects, smoking has a tremendous effect on skin aging, so much so that a 40 year old smoker’s skin resembles that of a 70 year old woman!

To***co smoke causes oxidative stress so that insufficient oxygen is delivered to the skin. It reduces immune responses, and induces an enzyme that specifically degrades collagen.

Following are the skin changes caused by smoking.

-Facial wrinkles and furrows (eg, crows’ feet , vertical ear crease, smoker’s lines around lips)

-Baggy eyelids and slack jawline

-Uneven skin colouring: greyish, yellow with prominent blood vessels (telangiectasia)

-Dry, coarse skin.
