Today was not just a surgery. It was a promise.
Puppy, the Pig, trusted us with his life.
We gave him safety, dignity, and a healthier future in return.
Sterilization is prevention. Prevention is compassion in action.
Back to the sanctuary. Back to comfort. Back to life. 💚

Yes, It looks cute.
A kitten sitting on someone’s shoulder.
But the truth is, very often injuries don’t happen because people don’t care.
They happen because people aren’t careful enough.
In hospitals, animals are exposed to:
• Loud barks
• Sudden movements
• New smells
• Other stressed animals
Cats are highly sensitive. Even a calm kitten can panic in a second.
When cats are carried loosely in arms or wrapped carelessly in a towel, the risks increase:
• Sudden jumping from height
• Fractures
• Head injuries
• Internal trauma
• Deep scratches to the handler
• Escape inside the hospital
A towel wrap done improperly is not restraint.
Holding in arms without full body support is not safe handling.
At Raahat, we strongly prefer that cats are brought in secure carriers.
A proper carrier:
• Prevents sudden escapes
• Reduces stress
• Protects the cat
• Protects caregivers
• Keeps the hospital environment controlled
If a cat station or designated holding area is available, please use it instead of keeping the cat on your shoulder or loosely in your arms.
Safety is not overreacting.
Safety is responsibility.
The goal is not just treatment.
The goal is zero preventable injuries.
Please bring your cats in carriers 🙏🏽

Drive a little slower. Look a little closer.
Because the streets are shared by those who cannot speak for themselves.
And if you can, stand with those who stop to help when others pass by. 🐾 Thank you, Aman 🙏🏽

Healing takes time, but love makes it lighter ❤️
After surgery, it’s not just medicines that work miracles. A caregiver’s patience, gentle touch, and constant care go a long way in recovery.
When you visit Raahat, we ensure you feel supported, heard, and never alone in your companion’s healing journey.

Our Story

Raahat, an Animal Hospital & Vegan Sanctuary in Village Nanurkhera, Dehradun, is the only facility of its kind in the State.

We are a Vegan Rescue Centre and run a Rescue Service which attends to emergencies in and around Dehradun.

We also have a Vegan & Animal Rights Library at the Sanctuary.

Raahat provides shelter & medical aid to the sick and the injured community animals.
