The IAPMR observes "World Cerebral Palsy Day" on October 6 to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and celebrate the diversity and achievements of the global Cerebral Palsy (CP) community. The event amplifies the voices of people living with CP, combats stereotypes, and calls for equal rights and opportunities.
The theme for "World Cerebral Palsy Day 2025" is . This theme emphasizes that while everyone with cerebral palsy is unique and has their own individual strengths and challenges, they are also united in a global community. The campaign calls for recognizing individual contributions, promoting inclusion, breaking down barriers to access and opportunity, and fostering a collective global movement for meaningful change.

Thanal–WHO Conference on “Integrated People-Centred Neurorehabilitation – Advancements and Way Forward” was held at Brain and Spine Medcity, Kannur, on 14 September 2025. This was inaugurated by Dr Asheel M, WHO National head for disability.IAPMR National President Dr Muralidharan PC , President of Mumbai chapter of IAPMR Dr Abhishek Srivatava and President of Kerala State Chapter of IAPMR Dr Sevan P participated in the conference. The event also brought together Dr Tashi Tobgay of WHO, Dr Mathew Numpeli of Ardram mission and Dr Naveen Anaswara, head of Kerala centre for disease control to align discussions with the WHO Rehabilitation 2030 initiative. Senior Physiatrist Dr S Hariharan and Dr Soumya of Kerala Social security mission were among prominent speakers. Sessions featured scalable community based models, palliative care integration and Thanal's hub and spoke approach. The active involvement of IAPMR leadership underscored the society’s role in advancing accessible, community-driven rehabilitation in India. Dr Faiz Muhammed, Functional head of Thanal, Dr. Muneer Chalil, and Dr Sreejith Choorapra participated in the discussions.

Our Sincere Thanks to all our distinguished chairpersons, speakers, and faculty members who enriched the scientific program through their insightful lectures, debates, and discussions. To our delegates from across the country for their enthusiastic participation and engagement in every session.

IAPMR Mid-term CME 2025 Inauguration

On 12th September 2025, the IAPMR Mid-term CME 2025 commenced with an inspiring inauguration graced by Dr. Sunita Sharma, Director General of Health Services, Government of India, and Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, AVSM, VSM, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services. Both dignitaries shared their insights and policy perspectives before an august gathering of experts, faculty, and practitioners.

The two-day programme, scheduled for 12th–13th September, has been designed to provide hands-on training in rehabilitation care, alongside lectures by nearly 40 leading experts in the field.

The conference theme, “From First Steps to Golden Years: Advancing Rehabilitation Across the Lifespan”, reflects a comprehensive approach to addressing rehabilitation needs across all stages of life.

Adding depth to the discussions, Former Directors General Dr. R.K. Srivastava and Dr. S.Y. Kothari also shared their valuable perspectives on strengthening India’s rehabilitation services.

ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad, proudly hosted an insightful workshop on "The Heat that Heals: Radiofrequency Ablation in Peripheral Joint Pain" in association with IAPMR Mid-Term CME 2025. The event brought together 25 delegates from esteemed government and private institutions across India.
Led by distinguished resource faculty from premier institutes, the workshop showcased radiofrequency ablation, a cutting-edge intervention for pain management. Delegates gained invaluable knowledge through live demonstrations and hands-on training, making it a highly enriching experience.
