_Benefits:_

- Strengthens the entire back, shoulders, and arms
- Stretches the chest, shoulders, and abdomen
- Improves flexibility and balance
- Can help relieve stress and improve mood

_How to practice:_

1. Lie on your stomach with your arms extended overhead.
2. Bend your knees and bring your heels towards your buttocks.
3. Reach back with your arms and grab your ankles.
4. Inhale and lift your chest, shoulders, and legs off the ground.
5. Keep your shoulders down and away from your ears.
6. Hold for 3-5 breaths and release.

_Modifications and tips:_

- Start with a modified version by holding onto a strap or towel instead of your ankles.
- Keep your knees slightly apart if necessary.

*Sanskrit Name:* एक पद कौण्डिन्यासन (Ek Pada Koundinyanasana)
*Type:* Balancing Pose
*Level:* Intermediate to Advanced

*How to do Ek Pada Koundinyanasana:*

1. Start in a high lunge position with your right foot forward.
2. Bend your front knee and place your hands on the ground beside your foot.
3. Extend your left leg behind you, keeping it straight.
4. Lift your back leg off the ground and balance on your front leg and hands.
5. Hold for a few breaths, then switch sides.
