Protein is essential for muscle, metabolism, and recovery—but like anything in excess, it can become harmful.

What is Protein Toxicity?
It’s when the body gets more protein than it can safely process, putting pressure on the kidneys and liver. This usually happens with very high intakes over a long period—especially in people with existing kidney issues.

How Much is Too Much?
Safe range: 0.8 – 2.2 g/kg body weight
Risk zone: >3.5–4 g/kg/day (especially for long durations)

Signs of Protein Overload:
Nausea or bloating
Dehydration
Bad breath (due to ketosis)
Fatigue
Kidney strain (in sensitive individuals)
Loss of calcium from bones
