Hi there! We are so excited to host this reading immersive reading group and Conversation with Foluke Taylor. The details are in the post. Please click on the link in our bio to indicate your interest.
The idea for this offering was conceived and gently facilitated by many wonderful people and places. Beginning with Foluke Taylor herself, the author of the groundexpanding/deepening/tilling/cultivating work, ‘The Unruly Therapeutic. We are so grateful that she will be joining us at the end of this group to meet our cohort. Epsita Sandhu ( ) would especially like to thank Kanika Mehrotra ( ) who hosts an incredible reading space called the ‘living room’ (certainly an inspiration for this space) and conversations with whom have consistently kept the spark for this offering alive and growing.

Once upon a time we invited Dr Sudhir Kakar and his ‘baawra Mann’ (a heart and mind, wild and free) to dream of a conversation with Sigmund Freud. Shalini Masih ( ) reflects on her experience of witnessing that evening, when chai in hand, Kakar let us in on the whimsical frolicking in the (play)field of his imagination.

Shalini’s work is deeply rooted in her Indian upbringing and her paper explores the intersection of psychoanalysis and traditional healing practices, focusing on spirit possession.
