My opposition to farm laws- an ayurvedic perspective: 😊😊😊

Western countries have made farming also a business. If it is done in India also all our native varieties of crops, vegetables and herbs will get lost because the native varieties yield less production per acre and the contractor will insist only for a particular hybrid variety. We have already lost a lot of our heritage and it will get completely lost if the farm laws are implemented.

You will get only one variety of potato throughout India. All other varieties will get lost and destroyed. Ayurveda says you become what you eat. Have you seen hybrid potatoes- they are big, fluffy and soft. Compare it with a native variety of potato which is strong and rugged. Now, won't our children who will be fed these hybrid potatoes become soft and fluffy. 🙏🙏🙏

Which are the three phases of life- bal awastha (child phase, tarun awastha (youth age) and prod awastha (old age). How these three phases of life are looked upon in ayurveda. Ayurveda says child phase is dominant with kapha dosha, youth phase is dominant with pitta dosha and old age phase is dominant with vata dosha.

Ever wondered why across all civilzations, sweets are distributed in celebrations. The reason is that when we are celebrating we are happy and sweets increase kapha and hence they add to the celebrations and hence happiness. As per ayurveda, kapha dosha brings out contentment, nourishment and happiness. Children are round and have domination of fats and hence kapha dosha in them. Because of kapha dosha dominance, children are loving, happy and contended.

As a child passes into youth phase his pitta dosha starts increasing which is the dominant dosha of youth phase of life. Pitta dosha is governed by agni (heat) and you know that youth have lot of fire in them. Youths are very motivated and they want to do this and that and so much more. The increased fire in them makes them ambititious and they are always on the winning spree. We also reach the pinnacle of our life during the youth phase and that happens when we are about 21-27 years of age. At that age bracket agni (heat) is at its best and a person is at the pinnacle of his intellectual abilities, memory, IQ and physical abilities.

Then comes old age which roughly begins at about 60 years of age. Now a days because of sedantry lifestyle, the food which we eat and the air we breathe, the old age arrives early, in some cases in early 50's.

Tell me, what is left out of burning. When you burn wood or coal what is produced- ash. So, old age is all about vata dosha which is predominantly dry and rough. Observe an old man closely and you will find that they have become dry- you don't feel any fullness or warmth in them.

Child had predmonantly fats in them which got burnt during youth and then what is left is dry and rough body......

Friends, I am back after a brief hiatus. My today topic is on mithya yoga (wrong involvement) of kala (seasons). This ancient phrase from ayurveda says that wrong involvement of seasons causes disease.

Summers should be hot and not cold. Similarly, winters should be cold and it should rain during the rainy season. What if it doesn't happens. What if it rain excessively during summers or winters and what if it remains warm during winters or cold during summers.

In ancient times man's interference with nature was minimal and so were the diseases. Nature is and can't be perfect and one should not expect perfection from it either- it is bound to err and the same is natural. But whenever it errered it caused diseases. This ancient phrase of wrong involvement of seasons referred to natural error by nature.

Modern man aided with science and laws which encourage greed is destroying nature and consequently we see wrong involvement of seasons in our day to day life. The same has led to increase in diseases.

Is man a part of nature and its surrounding or has come from Mars or Venus and has been implanted on earth. We all know the answer but don't want to acknowledge it. Darwin for the first time proved scientifically that man has evolved from monkeys and belong to this nature. Being part of the nature, isn't it man's duty to protect it.

Ancient and medievial man didn't have the might of science at his disposal and could not harm nature much; but the modern man has been doing it incessantaly and without remorse. The result is that it is not only the man who is suffering but the plant and animal kingdom around us is also suffering.

So, what is the solution. Let us all take a pledge today to live a simple and fulfilling life. But than that is an individual pledge and doesn't change the minds of majority of people who in the name of development and civilization are destroying nature around us which is causing variety of diseases.

So, if the other persons are fool and causing diseases- why should I suffer because of .....

How disease is caused by mithya yoga (wrong involvement) of artha (senses). The sense of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching are our five senses. This ancient phrase from ayurveda says wrong involvement of them can cause disease. Let us examine each of them seperately.

Wrong involvement of seeing-
The act of seeing consume our energy. Now this energy is to be spent judiciously on seeing right things. Why sense of seeing has been bestowed upon us- so that we can see the threats and escape/avoid them and do things for our survival.

So, what are the wrong things which should be avoided. I will make an exhustive list- would you agree that watching TV or movie or playing computer games or unnecassarily watching short videos or reading social messages on various chat and social apps is good for you- your answer would be that this should not be done as it as one waistage of time.

This ancient phrase goes beyond it- it says doing it results in diseases. I know, you will ask how is it possible. The anwer is simple- it will cause eye related diseases such as weakness of eyes, early age cataract, dry eyes, hazy sight, night blindness, seeing haloes at night and blindness, etc.

I know you still disagree with me. Let me try to explain it more scientifically. We loose energy in the act of seeing; the more we see the more energy we will loose. Let me tell you, we all have limited energy in our eyes- unjudicious use of it will render your eyes diseased and tired.

Of course, our sense of seeing should be used to protect ourselves from enemies, to walk on the road and to cross the road, etc. It should be used to earn our livelihood. But any unnecessary use of it is wrong involvement of our sense of sight and should not be done.

Have you looked in a child's eye- they are so clear and pulsating with energy; have you looked into an old man's eys- if they tired and spent- it means he has not used his sense of seeing judiciously and if they are fresh and child like- it means he used his eyes judiciously- you can call such a person spirtually.......
