On Day 2 of CPR Awareness Week, AIIMS conducted training sessions at its SET (Skills, e-Learning, Telemedicine) Facility for students, laypersons, and paramilitary forces, equipping them with the life-saving skill of CPR.
AIIMS followed a “Train the Trainer” model to create a ripple effect, enabling trained individuals to pass on their knowledge within their organisations and communities.
Under the leadership of Dr. M. Srinivas, AIIMS Delhi has trained nearly 10,000 staff members in CPR and Basic Life Support, including nurses, lab technicians, ward boys, and security personnel, ensuring the campus is prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies.
As early CPR is known to triple survival chances, AIIMS is also considering installing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across key locations on campus to further strengthen its emergency response.
Through these efforts, AIIMS is moving closer to becoming a CPR-ready institution: safe for its patients, staff, and visitors.
