The EarPopper is 510(K) regulated (510(K) Number K073401) and is marketed as a safe and effective way to aid muscle-assisted ET opening. It is a Politzer device, and aids ET opening by blowing a constant stream of air into the nasal cavity.
Treatment should be done twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, for 7 to 11 weeks — a protocol based on a clinical study. In this study group, hearing was restored to normal in 74% of patients after 7 weeks of treatment and 85% after 11 weeks of treatment.
The EarPopper® ear relief device balances pressure in the middle ear by delivering a safe, constant stream of air into the nasal cavity. During the moment of swallowing, the air opens the Eustachian Tube, clearing the middle ear, relieving negative ear pressure and allowing any fluids to drain.
