The 108th Indian Science Congress at Nagpur gets Virtually Inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi , Hon'ble Shri Nitin Gadkari , Shri Devendra Fadnavis , Shri Eknath Shinde - एकनाथ संभाजी शिंदे , Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari , Shri Jitendra singh, Dr ajay Kumar soot, Ravi Boratkar and other dignitaries.
Looking back, The 87th edition of Indian Science Congress (ISC) was inaugurated on 3rd January 2000 at Pune by the then Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A large-scale Science Exhibition was organised for the very first time by MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications under the aegis of ISCA, which became the biggest highlight of the Congress. The Exhibition displayed the true scientific prowess of India with the participation from some of the finest labs of CSIR, India , Indian Council of Medical Research , ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation , Defence research and development organisation , etc. A special pavilion on the Kargil War became an instant hit and the Exhibition attracted lakhs of science enthusiasts.
Shri Atal Ji made it a point to inaugurate the Science Expo and visited the best of the labs. Dr.Raghunath Mashelkar, Visionary in the true sense, in his Presidential Address presented the New Panchsheel of The New Millennium, covering topics like Child centred education, Woman centred family, Human centred development, Knowledge centred society, Innovation centred India.
The Indian Science Congress and Pride of India Expo has grown bigger since the year 2000 in stature and become a bridge for conversation amongst Researchers, Scientists, Academicians, Policy Makers, and Industry captains.
In 108th ISC Pride of India Expo, Hall of Pride dedicated to Women Scientists, Vigyan Jyot the Flame of Science which has inspired lakhs of students over the years continue to be the main highlights.
Along with scientific sessions, Women Science Congress, Farmer Science Congress, Tribal Science Congress and Children’s Science Congress are major highlights this year.
