It takes nearly one million seeds—harvested from approximately 30 kilograms of prickly pear fruit—to produce a single liter of oil. Each tiny seed contains only about 5% oil, requiring extensive manual separation, drying, and cold-pressing under low temperatures to preserve its bioactive integrity. This demanding production process, combined with its low yield, makes Prickly Pear Seed Oil one of the most precious and expensive botanical oils in the world.
