Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine*
1. *Purpose*: The HPV vaccine serves as a protective measure against specific types of human papillomavirus that can cause cervical cancer, as well as other cancers and diseases.
2. *Types*: There are three HPV vaccines available:
- Gardasil (quadrivalent, providing protection against HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18)
- Gardasil 9 (nonavalent, providing protection against HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58)
-Cervavac- is alo one of the options for 4 HPV Types.
3. *Recommendations*: The HPV vaccine is recommended for:
- Girls and boys aged 11-12 years (2-3 doses)
- Catch-up vaccination for females aged 13-26 years (3 doses). Last group is 25-45 for vaccination.
- Catch-up vaccination for males aged 13-21 years (3 doses)
4. *Efficacy*: The HPV vaccine has demonstrated high efficacy in preventing cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and a**l cancers, as well as ge***al warts.
*Benefits of HPV Vaccination*
1. *Cancer prevention*: HPV vaccination can prevent up to 90% of cervical cancers.
2. *Reduced risk of other cancers*: HPV vaccination can also reduce the risk of other cancers, such as a**l, vulvar, and vaginal cancers.
3. *Protection against ge***al warts*: HPV vaccination can prevent ge***al warts, which are caused by low-risk HPV types.
