The pharmacovigilance awareness program was organized among general patients and their attendants at Central Ayurveda Research Institute, New Delhi on 02/04/2025 by the PPvC team of CARI-CCRAS, New Delhi. Dr.Shivani Puri, JRF (Ay.) of PPvC, CARI-CCRAS, New Delhi, took the awareness lecture. She also gave knowledge about pharmacovigilance cell working at Punjabi bagh area i.e. Central Ayurveda Research Institute, New Delhi and how to report an ADR, who can report ADR, where to report ADR, what happens to the Information submitted, the necessity of Pharmacovigilance for ASU & H drugs. At the end of the lecture, an interactive session was held. IEC material was also distributed among the patients and their attendants.

The pharmacovigilance awareness program was organized among general patients, their attendants, and other Central Ayurveda Research Institute, New Delhi staff on 04/03/2025 by the PPvC team of CARI-CCRAS, New Delhi. Dr.Shweta Mata, Program coordinator of PPvC, CARI-CCRAS, New Delhi, took the awareness lecture. She enlightened the topic of Over-the-counter (OTC) Medicine and also gave an introduction to misleading advertisements covered under “The Drug and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act, 1954.” At the end of the lecture, Dr. Bharti, Director (Institute), concluded the program by giving importance to the topic.

As a part of 100 an intensified campaign on TB elimination launched by the government, an awareness lecture on Diagnosis, Management, and prevention of Tuberculosis was delivered by Dr. Meenakshi Suri, R.O. A program was conducted at CARI, Punjabi Bagh, on 13th January 2025 at 3:00 PM to celebrate the announcement of “Ayush Medical Coding and Records Day”, to be observed annually on 10th January starting from 2025. This initiative, declared during the 10th World Ayurveda Congress, marks a significant step towards preserving the rich heritage of Ayush while aligning with global healthcare standards. The event aimed to reaffirm the commitment of the officers to achieving excellence in medical documentation and standardization.
The program was chaired by Dr. Bharti, Director of the Institute, who emphasized the importance of meticulous record-keeping and its consistent maintenance. She motivated the staff to dedicate themselves to achieving quality in medical documentation, in alignment with established standards.
Following that, a lecture was delivered by Dr. Sudha, Research Officer (Ayurveda), & Nodal Officer for the Namaste Portal, on the “Significance of Observing Ayush Medical Coding and Records Day”. Dr. Sudha shared valuable insights into the background and rationale behind this observance. She elaborated on the concepts of medical records, medical coding, and the Ministry of Ayush’s initiatives, including A-HMIS and the Namaste Portal, which aim to ensure that Ayush continues to flourish as a credible, evidence-based, and globally recognized healthcare system.
The event was well-attended by all technical officers, who actively participated and reaffirmed their dedication to upholding the highest standards of medical documentation and coding in the Ayush sector.
