Empowering the frontlines of women’s health 💪🌸

Had the privilege of conducting a training session for ASHA workers on cervical cancer prevention — a disease that is largely preventable, yet continues to claim so many lives.

From understanding early warning signs to the importance of screening and HPV vaccination, these dedicated community health workers are now better equipped to spread awareness where it matters the most — at the grassroots.

Every informed ASHA worker means hundreds of women reached, educated, and potentially saved.
Because prevention doesn’t start in hospitals — it starts in communities. 💙

It was a wonderful academic experience to speak at Cancer Connect 2.0, organized by the oncology team at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

I had the opportunity to deliver a talk on “The Rise of PHENIX – Sentinel Node Mapping in Cervical Cancer.” The insights from the PHENIX Trial are particularly exciting, as they strengthen the role of sentinel lymph node mapping in cervical cancer surgery. This approach helps us achieve accurate staging while potentially reducing surgical complications, allowing more women to benefit from less invasive yet effective treatment.

It was also a privilege to share the stage with such inspiring and experienced colleagues and to engage in meaningful discussions on the future of gynecologic cancer care.

Grateful to the organizers and fellow faculty for creating such a vibrant platform for learning and collaboration. Together, we continue working towards better care and better outcomes for women with cancer.

📸 A few moments from the event — presenting at the podium and with the esteemed faculty panel.

Happy to share that our review article “Quality of Life Measurement in PARP Inhibitor Trials of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer – What Do We Know?” has been published in Cancer Control.

PARP inhibitors have changed the treatment landscape of ovarian cancer, helping many women live longer. However, an equally important question is: How well are our patients living during treatment?

In this review, we analyze how quality of life and patient-reported outcomes are being captured in major ovarian cancer trials and highlight areas where future research needs to improve.

Because in cancer care, survival and quality of life must go hand in hand.

Grateful to my co-authors and mentors for their collaboration on this work.

Should you worry about your periods?
Many women think that periods delayed by 2–4 days mean irregular periods — but that’s not always true.

Small delays can be normal due to stress, travel, or routine changes.

🔹 Periods are called irregular when:
• Cycle is 35 days
• Periods skip for 2–3 months
• Heavy bleeding or very painful periods happen often

Track your cycle. Don’t panic — get informed 💙
