Pregnancy & Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy: A Clinical Challenge

Pregnancy in women with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD) demands highly specialised care. Progressive muscle weakness, limited mobility, and associated comorbidities make routine pregnancy management complex.

Dr. Sonal Kumar et al. present a rare case demonstrating how a multi-disciplinary team obstetricians, physicians, anaesthetists, and physiotherapists can successfully navigate antenatal care, delivery planning, and postpartum management for improved maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Customized delivery plans, focused physiotherapy, careful monitoring, and tertiary-level support are essential for safe pregnancy outcomes in LGMD.
