🪻Self reflection –
We come to yoga for different reasons – physical, mental or with a desire to connect to the deeper spirituality. Taking a closer look at your personal reasons for showing up to the practice will keep you bringing back to your mat day after day.
For e.g.- my practice on the mat makes me better at other roles in my life, as a teacher, wife, daughter, sister. I feel peaceful and interact with others in a better way.
🪻Establish a routine –
Set aside a time of the day that works best for you to practice yoga. Designate a specific area in your home for yoga practice. Keep it clean, clutter free. It will create a sense of ritual and help commit to the practice.
🪻Set specific goals and track your progress -
It could be achieving a specific pose, improving flexibility or meditating for a certain duration. You can maintain a yoga journal recording your experiences, insights or document your progress that can serve as a reminder of how far you've come and motivate you to continue. Progress may not always be linear. Do not compare your progress with others. Celebrate each step forward, no matter how small.
🪻Sign up for a class –
To support your yoga journey, consider joining a local yoga studio or sign up for online classes for guidance, inspiration, and a sense of accountability.
🪻Be kind to yourself –
Yoga is a personal journey, and it's important to be compassionate with yourself. If you miss a day or have a less-than-ideal practice, let go of perfectionism and approach it with self-acceptance. Embrace the process and focus on the overall benefits that come from consistent effort.
🪻Cultivate mindfulness –
Practice conscious breathing, mindful eating, and being present in each moment.
