As part of the state-wide launch, the pneumoccoccal conjugate vaccines(PCVs) was launched in DENTAM PHC, West Sikkim, by Respected SDM Shri Nanda Kumar karki along with BDO Shri Garap Dorjee Bhutia, AEO shri Tshering panjo Sherpa and in presence of MO I/C Dr. Eden Bhutia and all staffs of PHC Dentam and also ICDS Supervisors.
PCV are the one of the most common causes for Morbidity and Mortality in children under 5years of age in India and across the world. As per the vaccination schedule for infants, the first dose of PCV is to be administered at 6weeks from birth, second dose at 14weeks and booster dose is given at 9months.
