I got stuck here. Twice.
The first time, back in August I missed my bus as I sprained my ankle while carrying my bags to the bus. The second time, more recently, I missed a flight to Goa because I had to pause my third panchakarma treatment due to a cold. Both times I had plans to travel with my tribe. Both times I was disappointed initially, but these experiences are teaching me that there is always a reason things turn out a certain way and everything always happens for my highest good. I’m learning to trust this.
If I hadn’t sprained my ankle I wouldn’t have fallen in love with Ayurveda in the way that I have. As I couldn’t physically move, I had a chance to reflect on why I felt I always had to keep moving. It was the pause that I needed to realise that exploring a new place would not bring me the same satisfaction as getting myself healthy and balanced in order to help others live a more balanced, happy life.
Since September, I have gone through an intense physical and emotional cleansing experience during the three panchakarma treatments. It wasn’t easy: drinking ghee, emotional ups and downs, solitude, eating a diet that seems weird to me and others… But as time went on I experienced a mental clarity I had never felt before. My body began giving me signals, letting me know what I should and shouldn’t eat and my unhealthy cravings disappeared. I now feel more clear, confident and happy.
Along with the Panchakarma I also studied for 3 months with Dr Arun Sharma. This has been a life changing experience and has empowered me with a slice of ancient knowledge. I am really grateful the sprain made me pause here and am looking forward to sharing more snippets of my journey with you.
If I hadn’t got ‘stuck’ here for a second time, I wouldn’t have experienced this magical snowfall which apparently is rare for the area.
As I sit here, writing this, I am wearing 5 layers of clothing, covered in 6 layers of blankets, breathing steam, with no electricity or hot water… I laugh at the minds reactions. I am lucky to have all that I have. Brief discomfort is turning into excitement as I look forward to what this journey will uncover next 💃🏻💓🙏🏼
