GMC DODA EXCELS IN POST GRADUATE EXAMS AT NATIONAL LEVEL

The Departments of Pediatrics and Medicine of GMC Doda have proved their excellence in postgraduate teaching and training in the recently held DNB exams at National Level wherein the first batch of candidates from GMC Doda cleared the exam in first attempt. GMC Doda achieved a major milestone as Dr. Sibin PS (Postgraduate trainee in the department of Paediatrics) becomes the first candidate to successfully pass DNB Pediatrics from GMC Doda. This remarkable accomplishment highlights the institution's commitment towards academic excellence and medical training. DNB exam is one of the toughest Post Graduate exams to pass in the first attempt. This success was made possible through the dedicated mentorship of HOD Paediatrics Dr Najmus Saqib, Dr Niraj Gupta(Guide), other faculty members (Dr. Narinder Singh, Dr Ghansham Singh, Dr. Satish k Sharma) and Senior Residents.
At the same time Dr. Ashly Santosh, DNB Trainee, Department of Medicine also cleared the same exam in first attempt. Credit goes to her hard work and dedication under the guidance of Dr. Younus Shah & Dr. Susheel Sharma(Guide), Dr. Arif Kelam HOD Medicine, other faculty members (Dr. Sudhir Manhas, Dr.Anil Padha) and Senior Residents. Dr. Sibin's and Dr Ashly Santosh's achievement is expected to inspire many medical professionals and further solidify GMC Doda's reputation as a premier institute for medical education and research.

Principal GMC Doda reviews implementation of IDSP & NVBDCP program

DODA, AUGUST 09: Principal Government Medical College Doda, Dr. Puja Vimesh today reviewed the implementation of Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) and National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) program here at a meeting held in his office chamber at Ghat Doda.

The meeting was attended by Dr Safia Khan (HOD Microbiology); Dr Suresh Kotwal (HOD Community Medicine); Dr Summat ul Khurshid (HOD Pathology); Mohd Iqbal Ganai (Chief Accounts Officer; Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist); Sanjeev Rana (I/c Legal Cell); Roma Sharma (Data Manager IDSP) and Faizan A Tramboo (I/c Media Desk).

At the onset, Umar Anayat briefed the chair indicator wise performance of IHIP of GMC Doda besides implementation of NVBDCP programme in the district.

Principal GMC Dr Puja reviewed achievements of deliverables recorded under these health programmes. She directed the concerned to work with added dedication and put in extra efforts to achieve targets laid under each programme.

The HODs were directed to review each programme and monitor the realization of indicators. They were asked to overcome shortfalls, if any, for proper implementation of centrally sponsored schemes.

Dr Puja Vimesh directed to assess the implementation of all the schemes on the ground to ensure that the benefits reach the end-user without any difficulty.

The Principal said that GMC Doda is fully committed and geared up to make all the health programs successful in coordination with the health department.

Mega health camp held at Chatta Doda

DODA, May 28:

On the directions of worthy Chief Medical Officer Doda, the BMO Office in collaboration with BPMU NHM Ghat on 27-05-2023 organized a mega health check up cm awareness camp at Village Chatta under HWC-Sub Centre Chata in Medical Block Ghat, District Doda.

The camp was organized as a part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Adbhut Doda's initiative of District Administration Doda.

During the camp, more than 350 people were examined and screened for general health checkup, Diabetes, Hypertension under NCD, eye screening besides TB screening was also performed by the team, out of which 115 samples of sputum samples were collected from them.

This was the unique camp of its kind being held at Village Chatta in which hundreds of patients were examined free of cost and provided with free medicines by the department.

While giving details about the camp, the officials said it is necessary to organize health camps to connect the general public with health services & to aware them about the beneficial schemes of the health department, adding that it is our endeavor that the benefits of the schemes run by the govt should reach the last beneficiary living in remote areas.

The whole event was smoothly and efficiently conducted by Sh Mashhood Latif (BMEO), Zahid Wani (Sr Asstt.) and Sh Zeeshan Tramboo (I/c Stores) with the help of staff of HWC-SC Chata.

Dr Hamid Parray (MO PHC Gundna), Dr Aamir Malik (MO NTPHC Sazan), Dr Tarif Younis (MLHP HWC Chata), Sh Arshad Latief (Lab Tech PHC Gundna), Sh Raju Kumar (Opth. Tech PHC Ghat), Sh Irshad Ahmed (STS DTU Doda) besides local ASHAs rendered their services, in making the camp successfull.

Meanwhile, health awareness lectures on good health & hygiene was given on the occasion besides the people were also sensitized about the mode of transmission, symptoms and treatment of Tuberculosis.

CMO Doda pays surprise visits

Inspects functioning of HWC-SC Pul Doda, Malhori, Jathi & Ramgarh (Baggar)

DODA, May 29:

The Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Ab Hamid Zargar on 27-05-2023 paid a surprise visit to different health centres of Medical Block Ghat/Assar including HWC-SC Pul Doda, Malhori, Jathi and Ramgarh Baggar and took stock of the functioning.

During the visit, the CMO inspected various sections of the hospital and took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the patient in these health centres.

CMO also interacted with the staff besides public of the area and enquired about the medical facilities being provided to them and sought feedback from the public on a variety of issues concerning healthcare.

Further, he also checked the record and attendance and directed the staff to maintain complete hygiene in and around the hospital and provide better medical care facilities to the patients.

CMO Doda Dr Zargar informed that the purpose of the surprise visit was to ensure that the health staff are on duty and to ensure their punctuality towards duty.

Expressing displeasure on the non seriousness and dereliction of duty by some of the employees, the CMO said slackness on the part of health staff will not be tolerated in any case and everyone will be made accountable to his/her duties. He called upon the concerned BMOs to pay frequent surprise visits to the peripheral institutions to ensure punctuality of staff and ensure best possible services to the patients.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Disability camp held at CHC Gandoh

DODA, May 25:

With the aim to provide door to door services to the people of the District and for their convenience, the health department on the directions of worthy Deputy Commissioner Doda organized day long disability camp at CHC Gandoh on 24-05-2023, under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The camp was held under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr A H Zargar and guidance of BMO Gandoh Dr Ghansham Singh.

People from different areas attended the camp in which consultants from the department provided consultations.

During the camp, a team of board of doctors including Dr Fayaz ul Haq (Consultant Physician), Dr Bishen Singh (Consultant Orthopedic) & Dr Ab Gafoor (MO MS Opthalmology) examined around 100 patients who turned up to the hospital for check up & assessment of percentage of medical disabilities.

Sh Arun Singh (Jr Assistant) and Sh Mohammad Umar (DEO) from CMO Office Doda provided their services & support in making the camp successful, along with the staff of CHC Gandoh.

CMO Doda Dr A H Zargar while giving details about the camp said that the objective of the camp was to provide multiple services to the people at their door steps, adding that the department will organize such more camps in others Medical Blocks of the District in the coming days.

The locals of the area appreciated the initiative of District Administration and Health Department, hoping that more such camps shall be organized on regular mode to facilitate ruralties who otherwise have to cover long distance to avail different facilities.

MVD Doda organises Health Checkup camp for Commercial Vehicle Operators

DODA, MAY 12: Motor Vehicles Department- Doda, in collaboration with the Health Department conducted a Mega Medical Health Checkup Camp cm General Awareness Programme for Commercial Vehicle Drivers in TRC at Pul Doda.

The programme was managed by ARTO Doda Rajesh Kumar under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan. The programme was attended by Dy SP Traffic Doda Baljeet Singh, DIO DIPR Doda Mohd Ashraf Wani, Incharge Medical Team Dr Nasir Indrabi, members of transport unions, commercial drivers and general public.

The team of health department conducted a general medical Health Checkup and eye sight tests of all the Drivers/Cleaners who attended the programme. Further free medicines were distributed among Drivers/Cleaners by the health Department.

Earlier, ARTO Doda welcomed the participants in the Medical Health Checkup Camp and thanked Chief Medical Officer, Traffic Police, & Transport Associations for their cooperation in organizing the Medical Health Checkup Camp.

He expressed his gratitude to the Drivers for their greater participation and told them that due to the over business, the drivers are not able to look after their Health and the basic purpose of the camp is to facilitate them. He also briefed about the Road Safety Parameters to be followed by the Drivers and imparted awareness about the road safety tips and laws. He stressed upon the drivers to refrain from any type of Drugs/intoxicant substances for their own safety and Safety of the passengers.

Dy SP Traffic Doda also addressed the participants and urged the Commercial vehicle drivers to take care of their health and undergo Health Checkup on a routine basis. He stressed upon the need for safe driving and also talked about mental health.
