They recalled his unwavering commitment, disciplined work ethics, and visionary leadership that significantly contributed to strengthening healthcare services across the district.

*ADC Doda Conducts Inspection of Health Institutions in Gandoh Block*

Doda, 26 November 2025:

In order to assess the functioning of health care institutions in Block Gandoh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Shri Anil Kumar Thakur, paid an official visit to SDH Gandoh and PHC Changa, on 25-11-2025.

Accompanied by BMO Gandoh, Dr. Farooq Saleem, the ADC inspected various sections of the health facilities and reviewed overall service delivery.

During his visit to PHC Changa, the ADC discussed the existing shortfalls and reviewed key concerns, particularly the acute shortage of staff caused by the transfer of promoted employees from Block Gandoh. The resulting manpower gap was highlighted as a major challenge. The ADC directed that a formal communication be sent to the Deputy Commissioner Doda for the relocation of surplus staff within the block in order to address the shortage at the earliest.

At SDH Gandoh, the ADC inspected multiple sections of the hospital, including the Jan Aushadhi Store, and took detailed note of issues reported by the staff. He assured that all pending matters will be addressed on priority to ensure improved patient care services for the people of Gandoh.

The ADC also interacted with patients, listened to their feedback, and encouraged the staff to maintain quality healthcare delivery across the institutions.

*Health Department Doda Accord Heartfelt Farewell to Sh. Surinder Singh Bijyal*

Doda, 24th November 2025:-

After rendering 26 years of dedicated and unblemished service in District Doda, the Health Department Doda today bid a warm and emotional farewell to Sh. Surinder Singh Bijyal (Paramedical Supervisor), who has been promoted as Leprosy Surveillance Officer and transferred to District Kathua.

To mark the occasion, a grand farewell function was organized by the staff of the CMO Office and Dy. CMO Office Doda in honour of Sh. S. S. Bijyal, acknowledging his remarkable contribution, sincerity, and unwavering commitment throughout his long tenure in the district.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dy. CMO Doda, Dr. Sat Lal Manhas, BMO Bhaderwah, Dr. Versha Sharma, Principal Govt. ANMT School Doda, Smt. Vidya Kotwal, besides officers and officials of the CMO Office, Dy. CMO Office, and ANMT School Doda. The family members of the outgoing official were also present, adding warmth and affection to the farewell gathering.

*Health Department Doda Intensifies IEC Campaign Against Drug Abuse*

Doda, November 22, 2025:

Reaffirming its commitment to curb the rising menace of substance abuse, the Health Department Doda, under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh (IAS), and the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Om Kumar, conducted a series of impactful awareness programmes on 22-11-2025 as part of the ongoing Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign.

The awareness activities were held at multiple locations across the district, including GDC Doda, GDC Bhaderwah, GDC Kilhotran, and other designated venues.

Health Resource Persons engaged with students, youth, and community members, highlighting the harmful consequences of drug abuse and its long-term effects on individuals, families, and society. Participants also took a pledge to abstain from drug use and contribute towards building a healthy, safe, and drug-free Doda.

The IEC campaign continues to focus on enhancing public awareness, fostering community involvement, and promoting collective responsibility to safeguard the wellbeing of the youth across District Doda.

*To***co Free Youth Campaign 3.0 Awareness Session Held at Lotus Academy Thathri*

Thathri, 21st Nov. 2025:-

On the directions of the Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Om Kumar and under the close supervision of Block Medical Officer Thathri Dr Shakeel Ahmed Kichloo, an awareness session under the To***co Free Youth Campaign was organized at Lotus Academy Thathri, on 20-11-2025.

During the session, health staff from CHC Thathri, including Ms. Pooja Sharma (Adolescent Health Counselor) and Mr. Rinku Rao (Counselor), delivered a detailed and informative lecture on the harmful effects of to***co, its impact on physical and mental health, and the importance of adopting a to***co-free lifestyle.

The resource persons also sensitized the students about various government initiatives aimed at preventing to***co use among adolescents and emphasized the need for collective responsibility in creating a healthier, to***co-free society.

The school management appreciated the efforts of the Health Department for conducting such meaningful and impactful awareness programme.

NQAS Preparedness Review Conducted at AAM SC Mathola & Chakka in District Doda

DODA, 20th Nov. 2025:

On the directions of the worthy Mission Director NHM J&K, Sh. Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary (IAS), and as part of the assessment process of identified health facilities under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), a team headed by Sh. Virender Vikram Singh (AM&EO, SHS NHM J&K / Internal Assessor), along with Sh. Jahangir Mehta (DPM NHM / Internal Assessor) and Sh. Faizan A. Tramboo (Internal Assessor), visited AAM Sub-Centre Mathola and AAM Sub-Centre Chakka, falling under Medical Block Bhaderwah, District Doda, on 19-11-2025.

During the visit, the assessment team thoroughly inspected both the health facilities, reviewed their preparedness under NQAS, and examined all relevant records, IEC materials, and other mandated indicators as per the quality standards. While checking, the team identified some minor gaps and provided on-spot instructions to the concerned staff to address and rectify these gaps within a prescribed time frame.

Later, the team also visited SDH Bhaderwah and held a meeting with BMO Bhaderwah, Dr. Versha Sharma, to discuss the gaps identified during the visit. The BMO briefed the visiting team about the services being provided at the health facilities and the ongoing efforts to strengthen quality healthcare delivery. The BMO Dr Sharma also assured the team that all the identified gaps will be filled shortly so that the facilities can progress smoothly under NQAS.

Dr. Kamaldeep Singh (Internal Assessor), Sh. Mohd Akhter (BM&EO), and Sh. Arshad Zaffar (BAM) accompanied the team at both health facilities and facilitated smooth coordination throughout the assessment process.
