The concept of seasons as narrated by Ayurveda, has really been disturbed in the last few years everywhere in the world. In Cities like mumbai or its suburbs, winter season has almost lost its existence. Similarly monsoon too has lost its regularity and sustained monsoon for 4 months as it was some decades ago is a past history now. Thanks to global warming or unprecedented urbanisation, heat or summer has gained a lot of ground or time space ,if we think about the climatic conditions prevailing throughout the year. The excessive amount of construction going on in mumbai or its suburbs is really not allowing the rain water to be absorbed in the earth/soil,due to the fact that cement or concrete has replaced the earth or soil where the huge skyscrapers or towers are constructed, which are replacing some 3to 4 storied buildings which are going in redevelopment. Also tar roads and concrete roads are doing the same problem. The sun rays are obstructed from reaching ground and the wind is not able to circulate freely as it was previously able to do so due to the newly constructed towers. The number of people who buy flats in the upcoming towers and start to stay in the limited area of mumbai or its suburbs is causing increased density of population, increase in number of vehicles causing traffic jams, increase in demand for potable water supply and electricity, increase in rate of inflation due to increased density of population, due to which rate of demand is exceeding supply rate!Increase in air pollution caused by CO2 emission loads of two wheelers and four wheelers bought by new citizens in the same city.Chemical industries causing air and water pollution in midc close to residential zones of midc.Excessive amount of Air conditioning used in centralised air-conditioned offices in the newly constructed towers in the city.Heavily Crowded local trains, buses, metros, etc, at almost any time during the day even at night.Trees are losing their strength & sturdiness, because the rain water is unable to absorb in the earth, which are essential to maintain their strong roots. So a lots of trees become dangerous or tend to fall especially in the beginning of the monsoon, when winds flow with speed. The loads of garbage created by the increased number of citizens of the city, causes air pollution.Local bodies are unable to cope up with the processing of tons of plastic and other garbage produced in urban areas. Also,People don't practise good habits about recycling of organic and inorganic garbage, segregation of wet & dry garbage, inspite of new laws or notices issued by the local civil bodies, which are not able to strictly enforce them due to huge population explosion in city area, or the areas just outside the city limits.Law and order situation also comes under pressure due to increased population,as the number of police personnel doesn't increase in accordance with the rate of population growth.I think number of people migrating from all the states to cities like mumbai or suburbs should be restricted/ curbed, as it is really going to become impossible to provide basic facilities or needs for incoming people due to oversaturation or supersaturated population in mumbai and suburbs.I know that more or less this is the case with every city,eg pune, nasik, etc.or even in some cities in other states, but still it is very chaotic in mumbai, thane, pune. The high humidity factor in mumbai too adds to the problem of experiencing more heat. But one thing is for sure, that we are losing contact with mother nature and it's pure resources essential for maintaining our day to day health.Stress levels also increase due to densely populated cities,as there is a fierce competition for getting basic things of daily necessities. Probability of corruption increases in densely populated cities.Inspite of such a large amount of construction work going on for residential and commercial premises, rates of real estate don't decrease. This is due to fact that the cost of construction of the towers, is recovered by selling some flats in a tower,so the developers are in no hurry to sell remaining flats or shops till they meet their demands. The new method of not using red bricks while constructing a building (or using cement blocks instead) or multistoreyed towers, should be examined or studied for durability of the structure or its longevity. Also, French windows in every room which cuts the need for constructing either one or two walls in each room. I suppose that a lot of stress, and other factors which I mentioned above are affecting health of people in cities like mumbai or its suburbs! In addition to that,Wrong Food habits, high sedentary life style due to work from home, for some people, lack of regular exercise, not getting fresh oxygen rich, pollution free air for breathing, shortage of pure potable water, etc are other factors affecting health of citizens in cities like mumbai. De-centralisation of population is required, but who can identify and solve such important issue amicably for all?
