കഥകളൊരുപാട് പറയാനുണ്ട് അരീക്കോടിന്. സ്വന്തം നാമോൽപത്തിയെക്കുറിച്ച്, ദേശത്തെ നയിച്ച കാരണവന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ച്, കളിക്കളം ജയച്ചടക്കിയ പടവീരന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ച്, പഠിച്ചും കളിച്ചും നേടിയ ദേശപ്പെരുമയെക്കുറിച്ച് അങ്ങനെയങ്ങനെ പലതും.

1998 മെയ് 1ന്, പൊന്നാനിയിൽ ആരംഭം കുറിച്ച, കാൽ നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ മഹിത സേവനപ്പെരുമയുമായി മലബാറിലെ ആദ്യ സമ്പൂർണ കണ്ണാശുപത്രി, "അൽ റൈഹാൻ ഐ ഹോസ്പിറ്റൽ" പുതിയ ശാഖ തുറന്നുകൊണ്ട് അരീക്കോടിന്റെ കാഴ്ചക്ക് പുതിയ വെളിച്ചം പകരാനെത്തുന്നു.

ഒപ്പം മെഡിക്കൽ പ്രൊഫഷണലുകളേ വാർത്തെടുക്കാൻ പാരാമെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജും പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു
