A recent incident reminded me of something I deeply believe in: the customer is not just important—the customer is everything.
For any business, the customer isn’t a part of the journey; the customer is the journey. Without them, there is no business, no growth, no story to tell.

In today’s era of social media-driven brands, instant gratification, and the Gen Z culture rapidly taking over startups and leadership roles, I often find myself pausing and reflecting on how the customer is perceived. Somewhere along the way, speed seems to have replaced sincerity, and visibility has replaced responsibility. The focus has shifted from building relationships to chasing metrics—and honestly, it pains me to see how lightly customer respect is sometimes taken.

I come from a service background, where I spent over a decade learning what real customer service means. It wasn’t just a department; it was a mindset. We were taught that every customer interaction mattered, that empathy came before efficiency, and that dignity and respect were non-negotiable. Over time, I felt that culture slowly fading, to a point where I almost believed it had disappeared entirely.

But then, every once in a while, life surprises you.

You come across people and businesses through small, seemingly insignificant moments that leave a lasting impact. These moments act as quiet reminders of how things should be done. They restore your faith. They tell you that despite the noise, despite the shortcuts, there are still business owners who believe in doing the right thing—even when no one is watching.

Incidents like these reaffirm my belief that customer service is not outdated, and values are not optional. They are timeless. And as long as there are people who continue to put the customer first, the soul of good business will always survive.

A Glimpse of a Beautiful Moment ✨

Life has a way of gifting moments that bring a flood of emotions — moments that make you pause, reflect, and simply feel gratitude. Recently, I experienced one such moment, and it touched so many layers of my heart.

Over eleven years ago, I married into a Kashmiri Pandit family. Since then, I’ve slowly become part of a culture rich in traditions, rituals, values, and warmth. Coming from a different background, there is always more to learn — yet love makes every lesson possible. I feel proud to be part of this heritage and excited to continue this beautiful journey.

The original intention of attending a cultural festival organized by KECSS was simple: to introduce my daughter to her Kashmiri roots. In today’s fast-paced world, with nuclear families and limited social interaction, it’s not always easy to give children the full experience of their heritage at home. I wanted her to mingle with the community, experience the culture, the food, the music, and the traditions firsthand.

Yet, when the divine has plans, they often arrive in ways you don’t expect. Alongside my daughter, I was invited to participate in the event — to walk the ramp and showcase the elegance of traditional Kashmiri attire. I must say, it was magical for so many reasons.

Seeing my daughter on stage, confidently walking and embracing the culture, brought a wave of emotions I cannot put into words. In that moment, I relived my own childhood — the times I held my mother’s finger and took my first steps, feeling her guidance, love, and protection. Every sacrifice, every adjustment, every effort she made to nurture and support me came rushing back. Walking on that stage with my daughter felt like walking with my mother once again — a circle of love, gratitude, and continuity.

Draped in a hand-embroidered Kashmiri Pashmina shawl, a Kashmiri silk saree, and the sacred Dejhor, I felt a deep sense of pride and connection. Not just to my roots, but to the women and family who came before me, who shaped me, and whose legacy continues through the next generation.

Were you aware of candle tunneling before today? 👇

Candle tunneling is one of the biggest mistakes in candle making 🔥
If only half your candle melts, you’re wasting wax, fragrance, and money.
The main reason?
❌ Wrong wick selection.
The right wick can completely change your candle’s performance—but choosing it depends on many technical factors.
