PCOS and Your Skin
Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is not just about irregular periods—it often makes its presence visible on the skin too. Elevated androgen (male hormone) levels can trigger several skin changes such as persistent acne, especially along the jawline and chin, oily skin, unwanted facial or body hair growth (hirsutism), and dark, velvety patches on the neck, underarms, or other areas (a condition called acanthosis nigricans). These symptoms can affect confidence, but understanding the link between PCOS and skin health is the first step towards effective management. With the right medical advice, skincare routine, and lifestyle changes, these concerns can be controlled. Share. Support. Stay Aware..
