Successfully conducted a workshop on 25th May, 2026 at the prestigious North Eastern Police Academy on the theme, “Understanding Self as a Leader: Leading with Empathy, Resilience & Empowerment.” The workshop was attended by participants from across India 🇮🇳 representing the law enforcement fraternity. It was truly a fulfilling experience, and I personally felt deeply satisfied and happy to have had the opportunity to engage with such dedicated professionals.

It is remarkable how the tables ‘turn’ in life ~ how I now stand as a “signatory” for the promotion and career advancement of those who once did everything in their power to hinder my growth & make my life difficult at the university joining hands with other detractors.

And yet, I chose to rise above it all, and contribute to their career journey in a positive way…
And believe me, it fills me with a quiet, almost divine sense of joy~ a smile offered to the Almighty~ seeing the profound satisfaction that comes from embodying such rare professional maturity. In choosing grace over grievance, and dignity over discord, I affirm that true strength lies in being the “Bigger Person”, ALWAYS !

There are moments in life that quietly become timeless treasures, and today was one of them.
Watching my only child & my soulmate, Vedanshi Priyadarshini~my legacy~ walk through the corridors of my Department at the University filled my heart with a kind of pride that words can barely hold. It was not just a visit; it was a beautiful merging of two worlds~ mine, built over years of dedication, and hers, blossoming with curiosity and promise.

I felt proud not only as a mother, but as someone who has been fortunate enough to build a life that my child can look at with admiration. And in her presence, I found renewed purpose, knowing that everything we do leaves an imprint on the hearts that matter most.
Today, my heart is full. My legacy stood beside me, and in her quiet pride, I found my greatest achievement reflected back at me.

I felt honoured to be invited as a Key Discussant at the 11th International Conference on Life Skills Education (ICLSE 2026), where I spoke on the theme “Wellbeing as an Educational Outcome: Positioning Life Skills as Central to Mental, Emotional, and Social Health.”

I was scheduled to travel to Bhubaneswar on 4th February; however, following the untimely demise of my beloved father last month, the organisers kindly requested me to share my thoughts online.

Shri Dipjyoti Mahanta, a distinguished academic, accomplished professional, and a deeply compassionate human being, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on January 9, 2026, at his residence in Jyotinagar, Guwahati.
Born to late Shri Basudev Mahanta and late Smt. Kusum Kumari Mahanta, he was their only child. He spent his early childhood years in Shillong and completed his schooling at Don Bosco School, Panbazar, Guwahati - an institution he fondly cherished throughout his life.
A scholar of exceptional merit, Shri Mahanta stood First Class First and was awarded the Gold Medal in Anthropology during his Master’s degree from Gauhati University. Driven by a passion for understanding people and institutions, he went on to earn a Master’s degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Furthering his academic excellence on a global platform, he was among the select few to receive the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship, under which he pursued his MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.
He devoted nearly three decades of his professional life to the Bongaigaon Refinery Petrochemicals Limited and ultimately retired from active service as General Manager (HR) from Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL), Namrup. Known for his integrity, fairness, and humane leadership, he earned deep respect from colleagues and subordinates alike.
Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Shri Dipjyoti Mahanta was a pure soul - a loving father, a devoted son, and an exceptionally caring and affectionate husband. His life was anchored in values of humility, compassion, and quiet strength.
He is survived by his wife, Smt. Giti Rekha Mahanta; his two daughters - Dr. Dimpy Mahanta and Ms. Leoni Mahanta, his son-in-law, Shri Ambarish Barman; and his beloved granddaughter, Vedanshi Priyadarshini. His last rites were performed at the Nabagraha Crematorium on January 10, 2026.
With his passing, the family has lost a guiding light, and the world, a life lived with quiet excellence and grace. He leaves behind an indelible void that words cannot fill, and memories that will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

May the pious soul rest in eternal peace 🙏
Om Shanti. 🕊️

Sitting in my garden surrounded by blooms & soaking myself in gentle sunshine quietly at peace…

The grass glows a soft green under the sun’s warm touch & the scarlet flowers rise around me, vivid and alive, while yellow and pastel blossoms rest below, carrying the promise of warmth and renewal.

Life’s Beautiful !
