In many Hindu traditions, every family lineage has a Kuladevata or Kuladevi, a deity connected to the ancestors who protects and guides the family across generations. Over time, as families move away from their ancestral lands, these sacred connections are often forgotten.

Her journey shows how unexpected events during a visit to Kerala helped uncover her family's forgotten Goddess and reconnect her with her ancestral temple and lineage.

What also caught my attention is that she is connected to a nonprofit initiative, the Indigenous Cultures Revival Project (ICRP), which works to document and preserve indigenous traditions, wisdom, and cultural heritage that are disappearing in the modern world.

Their mission is to share stories and protect indigenous knowledge connected to nature, spirituality, and sustainable living for future generations.

A meaningful reminder that sometimes the spiritual path is not about finding something new but remembering the wisdom and traditions of our ancestors..

Recently, I met a spiritual seeker https://www.facebook.com/shivakumara whose journey had taken an unusual turn. For few years, he followed the traditional path of deep meditation, searching inward for truth and enlightenment.

But over time, his path evolved when his master told him, โ€œGo into the world. Marry. Spend time with friends. Live your life.โ€

He slowly moved beyond structured meditation practices and began seeking wisdom directly from nature. Instead of sitting in closed spaces, he spent long hours in meditation.

He believes that nature itself is the greatest enlighten masters.

To him, the soil was not just earth โ€” it was the womb of existence, the source from which all life emerges and to which all life returns.

By quietly observing the rhythm of the wind, the stillness of mountains, and the flowing of water, he practices merging his awareness with the natural world. In his understanding, when a person truly dissolves their ego and becomes one with nature, they begin to absorb its essence.

Through this deep connection, he believes higher consciousness naturally awakens.

๐Ÿ”ฑ Bhimashankar Temple โ€“ My Visit ๐Ÿ”ฑ

Bhimashankar Temple, one of the 12 holy Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.Shiva manifested here as Bhimashankar after destroying the demon Bhima, and the divine heat from the battle is said to have given birth to the Bhima River.

The energy around the Jyotirlinga was calm, ancient, and very powerful. Meditate for 20mins in silence, my mind naturally slowed downโ€ฆ almost as if Shivaโ€™s presence was holding everything still.

The forest paths, the chants, and the sacred atmosphere made this visit truly special.
I left the temple feeling light, grounded, and deeply connected.

Grateful for this divine blessing and the inner stillness I received today.

๐ŸŒฟ Basistha Ashram โ€“ My Visit ๐ŸŒฟ

Basistha Ashram is connected to Rishi Vasistha, one of the Maha Rishi and the guru of Lord Rama. He came to this place after receiving a curse from King Kaushika (Vishwamitra), which forced him to leave his old hermitage.
The moment he arrived, he recognized the landโ€™s purity and spiritual strength. By his divine will, the sacred streams Lalitha, Kanta, and Sandhya are believed to have emerged here, turning the area into a natural sanctuary for meditation.

๐Ÿ™ My Experience

Walking into Basistha Ashram, the streams, and the ancient rocks still hold the vibration of the rishiโ€™s tapasya. Inside the main chamber, I was blessed to see the footprint of Basistha Muni, carved naturally on the rock.
The spot where the three sacred streams meet, and just get refresh my self with flowing waters felt refreshing and pure energy.

As I sat to meditate, a deep peace and grounding filled me, as if the subtle presence of Vasistha Muni was guiding the inner stillness. ๐Ÿ™

Navagraha Temple โ€“ My Visit

The Navagraha Temple, located on Citraseela Hill in Guwahati, is an ancient shrine dedicated to the Nine Celestial Energies (Navagrahas).
Built during the Ahom period, the temple houses nine Shiva Lingams, each representing a planet, with a central Lingam symbolising the Sun. For centuries, seekers have come here to understand cosmic influences and align themselves with higher harmony.

My Experience

Walking into the temple, I felt a strong sense of cosmic harmony, I visited each of the nine Lingams with devotion, offering prayers and absorbing the unique energy of every shrine.

When I sat for meditation, a deep calmness spread through me.It felt like the planetary energies were settling inside, bringing my mind into balance.

Our lives are connected to the larger universeโ€ฆ and when we tune inward, we can align with its grace.
Grateful for this cosmic and peaceful experience.

My Experience

I visited each Mahavidya shrine one by one, offering my prayers with devotion. With every darshan, I felt a different shade of Shakti โ€” the same cosmic energy that exists in all of us. Truly, nothing exists without Shaktiโ€ฆ everything is held together by Her power.

Inside the main sanctum, the Motherโ€™s presence felt raw, pure, and ancient.
The moment I entered, my mind became completely silent โ€” as if the Divine Mother herself gently held my thoughts still.

At every Shakti Peetham on the hill, I sat and meditated for at least 30 minutes.
Each meditation opened a new layer of experienceโ€ฆ
a deep, powerful, inner connection with Shaktiโ€™s energy.

It was not just a visit โ€” it was a direct experience of the Divine,
a reminder that the Mother is both outside and within.

๐Ÿ”ฑ My Visit to Kamakhya โ€“ Seat of the Mahavidyas

Its blessing to visit the Kamakhya Temple, one of the most powerful Shakti Peethas in India โ€” a place where the Divine Mother is worshipped in her most mysterious and transformative form.
Standing inside the sanctum, I felt the intense presence of Shakti โ€” silent, deep, and alive.

Kamakya is not just a templeโ€ฆ
It is the heart of the 10 Dasa Mahavidyas, the ten great cosmic wisdom forms of the Divine Mother.
Each form represents a different path of spiritual growth, inner transformation, and liberation.

10 Dasa Mahavidyas at Kamakhya

1๏ธโƒฃ Kali โ€“ Time, power, dissolution
2๏ธโƒฃ Tara โ€“ Protection, guidance, compassion
3๏ธโƒฃ Tripura Sundari (Shodashi) โ€“ Pure beauty, divine grace
4๏ธโƒฃ Bhuvaneshwari โ€“ Space, expansion, cosmic presence
5๏ธโƒฃ Bhairavi โ€“ Strength, discipline, inner fire
6๏ธโƒฃ Chinnamasta โ€“ Self-sacrifice, awakening, ego-cutting
7๏ธโƒฃ Dhumavati โ€“ Silence, detachment, inner wisdom
8๏ธโƒฃ Bagalamukhi โ€“ Stillness, protection, victory over negativity
9๏ธโƒฃ Matangi โ€“ Knowledge, intuition, divine expression
๐Ÿ”Ÿ Kamala โ€“ Prosperity, purity, Lakshmi energy

All these forms converge spiritually at Kamakhya โ€” making this hill a living mandala of divine energy.

Pandunath Temple is deeply connected to the Pandavas from the Mahabharata. During their years of exile, the Pandavas sought refuge in this region. The caves and rocks here are believed to be the very places where they rested, prayed, and connected with the Divine. This temple stands as a reminder of their inner strength, devotion, and surrender to a higher dharma.

My visit to Pandunath Temple became even more special as I was personally guided by the priest. He showed me the ancient Shivalingam carved directly from the natural rock inside the temple โ€” a powerful, grounding presence that felt alive with energy.

He also guided me to the rock carving of Krishna facing the Brahmaputra, a sacred image filled with calm, devotion, and timeless beauty.

I then sat in front of the Shivalingam and meditated for about 30 minutes.
Those moments were filled with bliss, peace, and deep inner stillness.
With the priestโ€™s guidance and the templeโ€™s ancient energy, the entire experience felt like a gentle divine blessing.

During my visit, I came across a strange papaya tree growing in a very unusual way โ€” almost as if nature itself wanted to leave a sign on this sacred island. In places like Umananda, even small things feel meaningfulโ€ฆ every plant, stone, and breeze carries its own quiet energy.

itโ€™s best to walk around the island using the natural pathway. Moving slowly through the path โ€” with the river flowing around you and the ancient rocks beneath your feet โ€” feels like receiving the full blessing of Umananda.

Itโ€™s not just a walkโ€ฆ
Itโ€™s a gentle circumambulation, a circle of devotion and awareness that connects you more deeply to the islandโ€™s divine presence.

Grateful for this simple yet powerful experience.
