In many Hindu traditions, every family lineage has a Kuladevata or Kuladevi, a deity connected to the ancestors who protects and guides the family across generations. Over time, as families move away from their ancestral lands, these sacred connections are often forgotten.
Her journey shows how unexpected events during a visit to Kerala helped uncover her family's forgotten Goddess and reconnect her with her ancestral temple and lineage.
What also caught my attention is that she is connected to a nonprofit initiative, the Indigenous Cultures Revival Project (ICRP), which works to document and preserve indigenous traditions, wisdom, and cultural heritage that are disappearing in the modern world.
Their mission is to share stories and protect indigenous knowledge connected to nature, spirituality, and sustainable living for future generations.
A meaningful reminder that sometimes the spiritual path is not about finding something new but remembering the wisdom and traditions of our ancestors..
