A Sunday morning well spent...
As they say, it takes a village to raise a child. When this gets marred by a neuro-psycho-social issue/disorder, it needs a multi-disciplinary team to help the child.

The West zone branch of Indian Psychiatric Society has this wonderful series of webinars highlighting the same

It was wonderful to moderate one such session discussing a case of an adolescent with Cerebral Palsy. Inputs from various specialists helped the principal therapist formulate a holistic plan for this adolescent which will help in her reaching her fullest potential

Lovely initiative by organisers Dr. Jyoti Shetty, Dr. Alka Subramanyam and all the others of the Child Psychiatry sub-speciality

Another lovely evening amongst youngsters who energize me and amaze me with their skills n knowledge every time I am with them...

Had the opportunity to talk about mental health to the members of the Rotaract Club of Khalsa College at their installation ceremony

Spoke to them about stress management as well as about the corporate world and how they can be better prepared to reach their goals

Wonderful organisation of the entire event including the food!!

What a wonderful Autism Awareness Month this April 2024 has been...

It all began with celebration at Sulabha centre for Autism - Parents made wonderful posters and kids gave a graceful dance performance

This was followed by a CME for doctors of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) with my fellow classmates Dr. Alka Subramanyam and Dr. Sheryl John. Felt blessed to have my teacher Dr. K. P. Dave and my father Dr. Manilal Gada in the audience

Also participated in the panel discussion on cognitive challenges and Alternative Education organised by Rotary @ Navi Mumbai thereby providing insights to parents as well as to members of Rotary International

Last but not the least conducted a webinar on Autism Awareness for the employees of DHL Express. Corporate support will go a long way in creating better opportunities for persons with Autism

Child Mental Health being a passion for me since the last 20 years, creating awareness about it has been my motto... Feeling blessed to have so many opportunities to take a few steps towards INCLUSION at various levels for persons with Autism

All of us doctors meet medical representatives regularly

They are all into sales and marketing which are high pressure and stressful jobs needing them to work in the field irrespective of the weather. They work in heavy rains and in extreme temperatures

In order to help them manage their stress better, I had a webinar with the Mumbai team of Cipla

It was a very interactive session with the participants asking for tips on parenting to say to day tips for stress management as well as to regulate their gadget use

Liaison Medicine... Collaboration between different medical specialities is the key to holistic healing of our patients. In keeping with this, Mumbai Obs-Gyn Society conducted an outreach program on Menopause.

I was glad to be on the panel to discuss the psychological aspects of menopause and the ways to help women deal with it effectively.

Dr. Ganpat Sawant was a lively moderator and the audience was very interactive. Lovely experience meeting gynaecologists of Ghatkopar and Chembur and few from across the city
