'Our Real Backbone is our Parents"

Our Backbone plays a crucial role in our life. Today, we are not talking about our spinal cord or vertebrae backbone but our real-life backbone, our parents. The biological backbone for any one on this planet.

With the new trend in the society, we tend to forget what our parents have done for us and how many sacrifices they have made in order to make us happy. In modern day scenario, people don't lovingly talk to their parents or we don't care about them as much they did. Why their advices now mean nothing when once it was everything.

Let’s contribute to the single parents living in the society, who are depressed and want some love back. Let’s hold back our lives a bit and reflect on how we can make our parents happy. Can we not arrange a get-together for them where they would also feel alive and cheerful.

Our Parents needs us desperately. They feel lonely at times, so wherever your parents are, lets care for them more than just proving them medicines and other necessities. Show the love they deserve.

It is quite interesting that people having good judgment skills not considered as judgmental. Judgemental is a negative word and used for the people who come to judgement without knowing the actual reason. One should not be overcritical for anything because there are always two sides of a story. We must know about both the sides before making our mind about a particular thing. Being not so judgemental is a part of a healthy mindset. We always take care of our physical health and try to become fit and healthy by doing various exercises, diet, sport etc. But, what about our mental health? It is as crucial as your physical health. Our thoughts make our personality. Being a judgmental person can fill your mind with unnecessary and vague opinions. We should always try to think positively, open the mind for pragmatic thinking and try not to hurt anyone for making our morals and happiness index high.

'It takes a strong woman to love a military man’.

Being belonged to army fraternity, I have met many army wives who are living in the memory of their beloved husbands because their husbands choose ‘nation’s duty over love’ and sacrifice their lives for the country. The life of an army wife is always challenging. She plays the role of a father and a mother while raising her kids. She makes silent sacrifices. She has the strength to say goodbye when she doesn’t want to. She is a strong woman with the heart of a lioness.

On this Kargil Vijay Diwas, I salute all the soldiers for their courage, bravery and sacrifices they made in the battlefield of Kargil.

Here, I am giving a small tribute to the army wives who are taking care of their family while living in the memories of their husbands.

In my last video, we discussed a lot about immunity and the immune system and how we can boost it by tweaking just a little bit in our diet plans.

Those who missed it can find the video here: https://bit.ly/2NYGnrw . Eating the right amount of nutrition and variety of food can build our immune system but how can we enhance or maintain it.

For sustaining better health and immunity, we need to exercise daily. Nowadays, most of the people are doing ‘Work from Home’. Work from home culture allows us to spend quality time with our family and loved ones, but on the other hand, it can have a detrimental effect on our health.
Long sitting hours and inactivity can affect our body and muscle health. We need to take some time out of our busy WFH schedule for workout. Like, we spare ourselves some time for a shower, eating and sleeping. In this video, I am going to tell you about some ‘In-House Exercises’, especially, which are related to lung and breathing.

Anulom – Vilom: It is a century-old, traditional, ‘Yoga’ exercise, where we focus on our breathing. It has great healing powers and helps in many medical conditions like asthma, depression, migraine, high blood pressure. A daily 5 minutes of Anulom-Vilom can do wonders to your health.

Jumping Jack: It is a great cardiovascular exercise which you can do at home and requires only body weight. Anybody can do this exercise, except those who have ligament tear issues or bone-related problems. It has good effects on your heart, lungs and muscles.

Squats: A common and effective exercise for the lower portion of the body. If you want toned legs and a strong lower body, you should do it regularly.

Stepper: This exercise needs a stepper. If you don’t have one, you can use your staircase. It burns calories in a much faster way and helps tone your lower body while working on core muscles.

In the end, relax your muscles and cool down your body with simple stretching. Practice ‘Bhujangasana’ or ‘Cobra Pose’. It also helps you in losing fat around your neck and abdominal area.

So, step into a fit, healthy and active lifestyle with these exercises. Do practice these exercises daily and experience visible changes in your health. God bless you all. Stay Fit, Stay Healthy!

Being an experienced health and wellness expert, lots of people have asked me about the ‘Immunity’ factor and how can we raise our immunity level?

Before going deep into it, let’s crack ‘What is immunity or immune system?’ In simple terms, our immunity is what keeps our body protected from diseases. Our immune system identifies and attacks a variety of threats, including viruses, bacteria and parasites.

How can we boost our immunity? The secret of our immunity lies in our ‘Indian Food’. Indian food is popularly known for its love-affair with spices. Generally, we use different types of herbs and spices in our kitchen from Fenugreek to ginger, cumin to garlic, turmeric and what not.

Those are the best known as immunity boosters and when we consume these superfoods daily, they support our immune system and make it strong. It is always a better choice to heal our body naturally rather than spending a fortune on bogus artificial immunity boosters.

Also, always give preference to a complete and balanced diet rather than jumping into any crash diet. A balanced amount of nutrition (carbs, proteins, vitamins & fat etc.) in our food, proper 8-hour sleep, positive attitude and a 15 min daily physical activity or exercise can do wonders to your body.

With all of these, let’s hope that this challenging time will pass soon and we will get back to our normal life. Till then eat well, live healthily and stay happy.
