Some days you make one loaf to feed a family of three, somedays junior pours in a cup of water cause he was struggling with the kneading, then you don't know if you should marvel at his mom-gifted baking sense or advis
e him not to mess with mom's baking. I did the prior until the flour: moisture content made sense and ended up with these beautiful loaves.
On the plus side, I don't have to bake for weeks.

In the month of December, I set out to raise money for those less fortunate than us, with my “Leading them to Cakes” initiative, where I would bake, you would buy, and the overheads would go to causes of my choosing.

Thanks to all your support, I raised a net of Rs. 3500/- and I contributed another Rs. 500, to make it an even Rs. 4,000/-.

I donated Rs. 2000/- to provide support for the rehabilitation program of stray dogs with “The Philanthropist and the Happy Dog”, while Rs. 2000/- went towards a program closer to my heart, the ongoing rural upliftment program by the name of “Howrah Sishu Kalyan Samity”.

This dream and initiative of mine would not have been possible without your generous support. So, thank you to each and everyone who came forward and bought for the cause wholeheartedly!

My heart goes out to all of you. You guys are everyday superheroes!

My baking initiative is still open to not only bake you wonderful goodies but also put smiles, however small, on two-legged and four-legged beings. 😊

And that's a wrap!

This December I tried bringing in just a little bit of shimmer to others lives.

I bring this month's baking initiative to an end with these lovely cheese stuffed buns and the last dozen of chocochip cookies I'll make this year.

Part-time Baker

Hi everyone reading this. I am a healthcare analyst and a part-time baker.

I started baking even before I knew it was called baking. I used to bake so much during my summer vacations that my mum had to hide the kneader.

The idea of forming “Leading them to Cakes” was in a way to fulfill my wish to bring my profound love of baking and all that is good, pure and tasteful to everyone who cherishes good food, while not costing a kidney, which I find most bakeries in Delhi NCR do. I imagined people enjoying all kind of my baked goods and the food would bring them tranquility, like msot good food does and being led to my cakes, biscuits, breads etc. Almost like the kids did in the story of “The Pied Piper of Hamlin”, where the kids stopped doing everything that they were doing, to follow the tune and the piper. Contact me for an order or a tasting box, and I am sure we can figure something out. :)
