The Science Behind Meditation:

Meditation helps individuals develop a healthier relationship with their thoughts, fostering a greater sense of mental clarity, emotional balance, and inner peace, by practicing observation, focus and gentle control of thoughts.

Observation of Thoughts:
In meditation, practitioners often sit quietly and observe their thoughts without actively engaging with them. The goal isn't to suppress thoughts but to observe them non-judgmentally as they arise and pass. Practitioners learn to notice thoughts and acknowledging them without getting carried away by their content. This practice cultivates awareness of the mind's patterns and tendencies.

Fostering Concentration Skills:
Meditation serves as a training ground for improving focus and concentration. Techniques like breath awareness or focusing on a specific object help practitioners develop the ability to sustain attention on a chosen focal point. Practitioners often find that enhanced focus and concentration cultivated through meditation spill over into various aspects of their daily lives, improving overall attention and performance.

Ignorance About Mediation.......

Many people think meditation is just sitting down in a dark room and being still.
Maybe there’s a candle burning.
This isn’t exactly accurate.

Meditation is a technology.
Having the proper meditation technique can help you accelerate your spiritual development.

Subtle energy, similar to other types of energy such as electricity, is bound by the laws of physics – Conductivity and Resistance. To have a fabulous experience during your spiritual practice, you need to receive spiritual energy. Spiritual energy helps to raise your consciousness higher.

However if you have lots of resistance in your aura, in the form of negative thoughts, negative emotions and etheric contamination, you will not be conductive enough.

These lower tendencies act as ballast or heavy weight, pulling down your consciousness. Resentment is one such negative emotion. It is very important to purify your system before sitting for meditation.

If your system is not purified, therefore, not ready, hundreds of hours of meditation will be useless.

“The purpose of Meditation is to develop your Higher Faculties. Without this development, understanding deeper Spiritual Truths is not possible.” ~ MCKS

To fulfill this purpose, many techniques are available globally, each using a certain approach to spiritual development.
Preparation for meditation includes several physical, etheric, emotional and mental purification techniques.

Besides the concept of conductivity, stillness is another important factor.
Based on a Taoist proverb, “if the water is turbulent you cannot see through. But if the water is calm and clear you can see through.”

This simply means to have inner experiences, there must be stillness and peace within.

Whatever technique you are using, the activation of the Crown chakra is a necessity for receiving spiritual energy.

There are many methods to activate the Crown, ranging from yogic poses to chanting mantras and holding mudras, but many of such techniques are not rapid enough.

One of the fastest ways to activate the Crown is through activating the Heart chakra, since the Heart and Crown are connected – the Heart is known as the center for human love, while the Crown is known as the center for universal love!

*How Emotions Affect Our Health*

Every cell in our body is intelligent to think and act. We have *60 trillion* cells in our body and our health depends a lot on the harmonic balance and cohesion of the cells with each other.

In the movie _Eat, Pray, Love_, Julia Roberts visits a wise man in Bali, and he advises her not to try too hard to meditate. In fact, he suggests that meditation is nothing but smiling and the line that is a kicker, is "Smile with your liver."

If you believe that this is just a metaphor, lets look at the other end of the spectrum to prove just how crucial this is.

Let us say you hold a negative emotion towards somebody, something or some event in your life. Each time you think of that your whole body re-lives the emotional upheaval of that association.

Your mind doesn't have a mind of its own, and doesn't know if the event is happening in real time or it is being replayed. So it produces the same stress hormones each time. Each and every cell of your body starts feeling the same emotion, of let us say "hatred" towards that event, person or experience all over again.

The body is not at ease. This is a state where the condition of disease sets in.

If you continue to live in that state, your cells are now getting conditioned to live in the same state.
The Upanishads talk about *"Yatha Pinde Tatha Brahmande"* ...as is the atom so is the universe.

The health of a person depends on how well all the systems of the body and the *60 trillion cells* play the melody of harmony together.

When the cells are living in a state of hatred, they soon start exhibiting that with each other and killing healthy cells in the body. This leads to many forms of auto immune disease.

Like Rumi said, "you are not a drop in the ocean, you are an ocean in every drop".

Be careful of your thoughts, your feelings and your emotions.

*Forgive people, not because they deserve it, but because you need it. Stay happy, stay healthy.* Have a wonderful healthy life ahead filled with the abundance of good health and happiness.
